Hi all,
i am bored at work, so was looking at puppies on the net, i am just wondering why french bulldogs are so expensive? i have seen some advertise for nearly £3000 and wondering why? They are a gorgeous breed, is the cost incured by breeding because they are hard to deliver ie many needing ceseareans (sp)? Also none of the adverts i have seen have mentioned health testing...are they tested for anything?
Many Thanks
Angela.

i dont know, i was thinking the same myself! it looks like reputable breeders are selling for £1000 to £1500 but i think the £3000 ones are just money grabbers! what annoys me more is the price for crosses- french cross pugs £600 and once there was french cross pug £1000 then reduced 900 then 700 now 600! still rediculous price for a cross! i bet whoever paid £1000 for the first pup was cheessed off when the price fell for the others! thats why people change their minds. pups cost a lot to rear so £200 to £300 seems fair for a cross but why these people breed them on purpose? i dont know, has to be for the money!

i just can't believe it, its really sad as these pups don't ask to be born, and what happens with the credit crunch and these dogs don't sell? i hope they won't put them to sleep. I know i would never buy a cross for that kind of money its ridiculous!!! I just can't believe people will buy them at this price, i was thinking more like £1000, for a pure bred health tested pup, but also wondering why bitches are alot more exensive not just talking a hundred pounds more than the dogs, but some are £500 to a £1000 pounds more!
