Im so confused about complete foods now,  I started off on Eukaneba, no probs on it BUT people kept pointing out bad points so I tried Royal Cainne, no probs BUT then I was told the protien was too high and to look for something with around 18%  I found Burns so have bought some of that, what are peoples veiws on Burns, is there anything wrong with it?

More to the point, how do these different foods suit your dog?

Every dog is different, so what is right for one is wrong for another.

Hes fine on all of them, the first two didnt make any difference to him, only just started on the Burns so dont know yet.  Hes not fussy and is food motivated so if its there he'll eat it, his fav food being cow pat :-)

IMO Burns is far too low in fat and protein for a normal healthy dog.I have read many posts about problems with dogs which can usually be attributed to the too low levels.
There is nothing wrong with high protein foods.Old, and now defunct research used to say not to feed high protein and fat diets ,but the opposite has now been proven to be true.

Burns is the only food that suits my boys, I mix it with a bit of raw for taste (they are fussy) and they both look great, I show, do agility and run canix with them - in fact last year they did a half marathon with me :)

It does depend on what suits your dog though.

How old is your dog?

I think if Burns works for you, then it is a good quality food and you shouldn't worry about what other people say.

Personally, Burns didn't suit us as both our dogs had sloppy poos on it, and the puppy struggled to gain weight even when we fed more than the recommended amount. But just because it didn't work with our two doesn't mean it isn't the perfect food for your chap.

Oh, and I know what you mean about the cowpats. If anyone came up with a cow poo flavoured dog food, my two would be in doggy heaven come meal times! :-D
