Well since you asked - it's my birthday on Sunday so OH & I are going to look at cars :-) then off to my parents for a Sunday roast. Tomorrow my OH is playing rugby in the day, I am off shopping with my mother, and then the OH & I are going out for dinner with my best friend and her husband.

:-)

Busy weekend here indeed. My kids come over tomorrow, we have to groom all the cats, clean out all litetr trays and of course the puppy kennel, plus do all the usual stuff like cleaning and feeding and walking, oh and the papillons and the cavalier all need bathing, and ideally I should spend some time with the kids. :-D Sunday, gosh, well puppy buyers at 12 noon, kitten buyers at 2pm, kittens buyers at 4 pm! (All viewing.) Think I will be glad when Monday comes, except there's puppy buyers coming Monday and Tuesday as well LOL.
- By yorkies4eva [gb] Date 17.10.08 14:20 UTC
Gosh you are both having packed weekends!!

What sort of car are you looking for, is that your present??

And Marianne, you wil be glad to get your feet back up at work on Monday by the sounds of it :-P ;-)
- By AliceC Date 17.10.08 14:22 UTC
And I forgot to mention I'll also be spending time with the dogs...I feel bad now !! I always take the dogs for a lovely long walk on Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately my cavalier will have to stay at home as she's in season :-(

Marianne it sounds like you have a very busy weekend - good luck with your prospective puppy / kitten owners, I hope they find some lovely homes.
- By AliceC Date 17.10.08 14:24 UTC
Not for my present - I'm not that lucky unfortunately !! My OH & I don't have very practical cars at the moment for the dogs so I'm looking at estate cars and 4x4's :-)

I've got a busy day tomorrow.  Going to the hairdressers in the morning.  Meeting a friend with her two kids at soft play in the afternoon.  Stopping in at a 4th birthday party on the way home then have friends coming round for take-away tomorrow night.  Not sure what we're up to on Sunday, but need to get a present for a friend who's just had a baby and will probably go out for lunch with my hubby and baby.
- By huskypup [us] Date 17.10.08 14:53 UTC
OH wants to go to the Caravan and Camping Show at NEC Birmingham (or whatever it's called now) tomorrow, but we'll see.  Sunday will be spent catching up with the housework and supermarket shopping - if we haven't spent all our dosh on a new caravan.
- By tripie [gb] Date 17.10.08 15:07 UTC
Well, this weekend, my OH is working so home alone, I'm working tomorrow from 8-12, I work from home as a Dog groomer.
Then I have to walk and feed my 7, then some housework, then cook dinner for OH coming home, going shopping Sunday for new outfit for my dad's 60th next weekend, and then its Monday again...!!
- By katnichol Date 17.10.08 15:46 UTC
Taking Katy for a long walk in the morning, OH works till afternoon then horse riding , after that go and do the weekly shop which I really love not? Do not enjoy having to put everything away the start cooking, then sit down with a bottle of wine and watch X-Factor
Got some Lamb off my sister so will be having that for Sunday Lunch , Instead of Goose which cooked for the first time last week we  were not too struck about it though as I have said on Foo

DOG SHOW  ..... :-) where I hope to catch up with about 20 (ish) people I only see a couple of times a year. Then home to a homecooked meal by OH :-) :-)
A bit of Strickly and X Fictor..... what could be better than that?

Then Sunday catch up with putting the garden to bed for the winter.

- By suejaw Date 17.10.08 21:56 UTC
i have the weekend off, would be the way in that there are no shows on i can attend.
Got to get the house in order, so a mix of housework, dog walking and TV viewing.
Its lovely not having any plans and i can do as i please for the next 2 days.
- By breehant Date 17.10.08 22:16 UTC
Was going to a show, but Oh is working and  I do not drive so a nice long walk in the woods for me and my three. Shopping, then finish garden ready for over wintering. And a spring clean I have a  mountain of stuff that is no longer needed that I need to sort and get rid of, then some strictly for me as well, although never been a fan of x factor so will give that a miss.
- By bilbobaggins [gb] Date 17.10.08 22:45 UTC Edited 17.10.08 22:49 UTC
No plans except a long lie in on Sunday and walks with my boys.

The weekends where nothing is planned usually end up being the best.

Breehant do you get odd looks as well from people when you tell them you don't drive??
- By dexter [gb] Date 18.10.08 08:32 UTC

hmm well we went but despite the marine forecast saying the sea state was "slight"....it was horredous!!! Huge waves crashing and out to sea the rollers were way higher than the boat....Im just so glad we decided not to take the puppy this time as he would have been very put off! We quit after about an hour of being unable to even stand up. All we caught was about a dozen mackrell :( but when we got back we went for a forage on the shore and i still had my chest waders on so went out to a rocky inlet under about 4 feet of water and managed to catch 2 large edible crabs about 8" shells....so its crab cakes for dinner tonight!!!
- By munrogirl76 Date 18.10.08 15:44 UTC
Look on the bright side - at least you caught something edible and no-one got swept into the sea. :-) Any crab cakes going spare? ;-)
- By sam Date 18.10.08 17:21 UTC
yes good point. we took our friend and his 7 year old son...who we thought would scream and be sick, but he actually loved it.....oh the joy of being  so young and unaware of danger!!!
- By Dogz Date 18.10.08 17:57 UTC
My dogs are loving mackerel heads these days....

- By Brainless [gb] Date 19.10.08 08:59 UTC
My lot get restricted walks at the moment as one of them is in season ans I fidn if I take the others to the country Park that they get pestered due to smelling of the in season one, so I find it easier and fairer on the in season one to road walk them all.
- By Astarte Date 19.10.08 10:26 UTC
happy birthday alice :)

Quiet mornings housework, OH off Scouting. Left with dogs at 5:30pm sat in a field registering 80 kids for a night hike in Hampshire. 16 teams off 15 minute gap. Then listening on the radio's to make sure they weren't all lost (some were!) Started returning at about 12 midnight, I stayed until 03:30am took my doggies home and they were asleep in their crates by 4am. I woke up about 9am doggies out for a wee and they put themselves back to be until 11ish!! (crate doors open!!) OH back at 12 noon, up Pet City for 2 bags of dog food and a free talk to the vet as he was having a coffee!! Home via Town for a Costa Coffee. OH watched old war films to try and stay awake I helped son and partner move in to a new flat. He cooked a roast (it was lovely). Bed around 9pm silence.... up at 6:00 walking dogs by 6:30 am here at work now checking what you have all been doing!

I am down at my sister's in Poole. Had a great time shopping in Portsmouth and chums round on Saturday night.  Home later today.  Have managed to sneak onto her computer a couple of times to catch up on CD :-)
- By AlisonGold [gb] Date 20.10.08 20:03 UTC
Picked up my new puppy who is by my young dog on Friday so as you can imagine we have had a very full puppy potty training weekend, plenty of accidents and keeping the puppy from pushing her luck too much with her grandma, aunty and the matriach of the family.
- By dexter [gb] Date 20.10.08 20:10 UTC
Ooh how exciting :) pick ours up soon, can't wait :D
- By Nikita [gb] Date 21.10.08 17:19 UTC
My weekend sucked lol!

Saturday I was in and out all day running errands, and the evening's plan of going to see Burn After Reading was scuppered when the local pillocks started this year's fireworks off. :-( So our entertainment was Pirates of the Caribbean 2 :-P

Then Sunday I was up early for the boot fair (after only 6 hours' sleep which I still haven't caught up on); 90 minutes there (and some excellent bargains!) then home.  Absolutely knackered cos I took Soli (first time I've ever tried her somewhere like that and she was fab but pulled and weaved the whole time).  Home then straight out with the dogs.  Home, lunch for 10 minutes (literally) then on to the next task - filling three large polystyrene boxes, in order to catch my hefty fish (three at 10, 11 and 15"), which I then drove to Lincoln to their new home.

By the time I got back I had about an hour to do stuff round the house, before going to Mark's for tea.  Had tea, fell asleep for two hours, got home, fell asleep again.  Never been so tired at work as I was yesterday; early night last night (sleep at half 8 but up at 4.45am).  Still need more, my legs ache and I am still exhausted.

So all in all, crap weekend :-P This weekend coming I intend to do as little as possible!
