Hello,
I'm new here and hoping that someone can advise me on puppy cages. I've seen the Rosewood cages, and also a couple of un-branded ones that are quite a bit cheaper. Are there advantages to paying more for a Rosewood cage, for example quality? We plan to buy a Labrador pup and knowing how strong they can be, I don't want to buy a cage that will only last 5 minutes. Nor do I want something that could hurt the pup if she can chew it. We plan to use it as a permanent bed in the house and for trips in the car. Any advise would be gratefully recieved!
Hello guest,
I have a Rosewood, crate which i prefer to the cheaper one,s cost £90.And a friend of mine has a cheaper
one cost £38.Their is a big difference in the quality.
It folds flat and is easy to assemble when needed for the car.I bought mine from a pet shop. You might find one
cheaper by mail order.Or look in the dog papers for adds.Mine was bought for a labrador, she is only 8 weeks old
so time will tell if it stands the test.
Good luck in your choice.
linda..

I have always bought the cheaper cages too and have found them to be fine for the dogs but suffer from "human" damage - bending more easily by accident bashes against walls etc when being carried. I'd buy the best you can afford, though I have had both of mine about 15 years and are still fine to use, but have lost their shinyness. For use in the car and to protect them in the case of RTA's then I would definately get the heavier quality ones, but for home use I'd get the cheapest available. The cheaper ones are also lighter to move around and with a big cage if you are single handed this could be an advantage.

You could try your local pet shop. Mine has been fantastic and I have a cage for my Labrador that is huge. It is very sturdy and still looks as good as new. I think I paid £55 for it. A similar cage in pets at home was over £100 and looked really flimsy.
