Your pup should see the vet, it may well be demodex, are the front feet ok?

That sounds like a Woods Lamp which checks for some types of ringworm, not demodex.

what breed? Flatcoat pupy's often get what used to be referred to as spectacles.  balding around both eyes. this cleared up and no scarring left

Hi, i live in Spain and here we have a disease here called Leishmaniosis, sandfly disease, i was looking at an artical on the internet last night, it said that they are now finding Leishmaniosis now in the uk, something to do with climite change, this disease has symptoms of, baldness around the eyes, they call ot the sunglass effect, here we can have a simple blood test, takes 20 mins to see if neg or pos, if pos the treatment is good and these days a dog can usully live out its full life expectency, other symptoms are, loss of hair around the muzzle and tips of the ears, loss of energy, cuts and lesions that continue to weep, rapid nail growth, some times the dog may only carry one of the symptoms, you could ask your vet about this. the reason flatcoats  often or get it due the the head shape and how quicky it grows in the growing period,
the soft tissues like hair and skin cannot catch with the bone growth and the head shape changing,
bye 6 month it will disapper
