As you all know I bought a Buell Blast 2000 500cc to learn to ride- got my license and now I have sold her.

I have my eye on another bike a 696 Ducati Monster 2009 in pearl and black, it comes in red, black or white (pearl) My hubby has the 1000 Monster but they are not making any more 1000 for 2009 only a 1100 and well its going to heavier and faster and this 696 is only like 10 horse power less then my hubby's. I sat on it and just love it. I did want a crotch rocket and this is close don't think my wrist could handle how the bars are on a crotch rocket- this one is kinda a cross between a monster and a crotch and I think looks more sportier then my hubby's.

Had to share, Iam pretty excited about this bike- I do love the GSX R 1000 but just don't care for all the fairings on the side where this is a naked bike and I just love the look. I love the black but I think the white is alot more flashier I dunno what do you thinks white or black? The other thing about this bike if I want to change the color I can I just have to order the pieces and boom I have either black or white  or red lol I can't wait suppose to go down and guess get in debt for January lol Iam just giddy :-)

Black or Red for me too. I'm currently looking for my next bike, I did a restricted access test so can only ride up to a certain size until April 09 when I can ride anything I can touch the ground on!!!!!! (I'm vertically challenged at 5ft 2)

I'd love a Triumph Speed Triple but the OH is insisting I get a smaller engined bike first (currently ride a CB1 400), so it's not such a big jump in power. So i'll probably be looking at the "little" monster as fared sports bikes just aren't my bag.

My hubby's is black/white and I'll be white/black- the black is sweet but Iam leaning alot towards the white right now- Too bad it didn't come in green I'd jump all over that lmao really I want a green one and I know they make ninja's in green but I want a ducati- thats ok I have till January to decide, just hope they have a all 3 colors up in the show room and I can def decide then.

Hubby didn't want me jumping onto a 1100 cc plus its bigger then his 1000 and I can't have a faster bike lol but if I get the 848 it would be faster heheh- o'well I like this 696 and its not much smaller then his- then I also have to look at not like Iam ever going to take it to top speed lol so all that power would be useless to me- I wanna ride and enjoy my ride not endanger my life with it lol

They are trying to bring in a restriction by 2010 for bike license so am happy I have them all ready.

I love the naked look of the monster thats pretty much what sold me on it, plus riding on the back of his all the time- also more of a comfy seat for the rider as well as the passenger and makes a better bike for long distance rides where the crotch rocket wouldn't.

LOL whats wrong with white? My new boyfriend will be sooooooooooo sexy heheheh White does tend to get dirty faster doesn't it-hmmm Our friend has a yellow GSX-R 1000 (crotch rocket) and it really stands out.

They do the Speed Triple in Green - google the website it's a very sexy bike!! My OH has got a Hyabusa (GSX1300R) pre the restrictions they put on all bikes now, he put a new exhaust on it so to stop the foot long blue flames he had to have something mapped??? don't know the techie details but it was put on a rolling road (i.e. like a treadmill in a workshop) and clocked at 196mph. It's a scary fast bike. I think he didn't want me to get a bigger bike than him - although I don't think there are many.

He's using the excuse of me getting a new bike in APril as a reason for him to start looking - he likes the kawasaki ZX10. Men! any excuse to get a new toy!

They are nice looks like the monster- iam thinking if I do get this white one then iam gonna see about getting a red eye tree frog painted on the tank and one on the seat cover looking like its holding on lol The Aprilia is nice to - but i gotta have my duc lol

Ya I know what your talking about our friend did his bike on that and it was one of the fastest clocked- can't remember the speed but he has done alot of mods to it- GSX-R 1000 no problem going 260-280 which he has- my hubby was going 240-260 with me on the back- some scary crap i tell you- no reason to go that fast... 

The crotch def is more faster then the monster I was looking at the 1098 then the 848 they are one sexy bike and alot of power- ment for the race track. I do have some problems with my wrists so i def could not handle staying in that leaned over position for 2 long- one of the main reasons why Iam looking at the monster- he's still a sweeeeeeeeeeeet machine- and I love the naked look of the bikes too... The dry weight of this bike is pretty light so thats all good- the busa's are def heavier.

I commute into central London every day - but the weather is turning here and the 70 mile round trip is a bit much in the cold, especially as I like the naked look so don't have any protection from fairings. Bike is going away for the winter, and I'm back to commuting by train with the great unwashed! Bah Humbug!

I really really want a speed triple, but don't think i'll be ready for it just yet, apparently they do a street triple which I think is a 600/750, so might look at that, the monster is also on my list. My mechanic has suggested a 600 Bandit, but I've been told they're quite top heavy so not sure this would be a good move - I'm only short so my initial consideration is can I touch the floor, I'd want balls of feet both sides rather than tippy toes, and is the reach OK. I ride past far too many people who look like they've borrowed their Dad/brothers bike!!

Funnily enough i can touch the floor on the Busa, but it's a huge beastie. I was allowed to ride it into the garage the other day - managed it quite nicely! OH thought I was going to end up going straight through and out the garden the other side LOL!

I was on my hubby's last year but only in a parking lot and well I should not have been learning on a litre bike either- now he says if I get this bike we may trade at times hahah maybe not I'm on tippy toes on his and pretty much flat footed on this 696- he wants to take it on the track- ya right lol. If it wasn't for my wrists I probably would be going for the 848 ducati- but i have to be realistic and I also no the kids would enjoy the ride alot more on the monster and it is alot more comfortable.

Its getting pretty nasty here now the wind is terrible and hubby's plates expired yesterday, he's not going to winterize it just yet he wants to see if there will be another nice day so he can permit for one more day and we can go for one last ride- here's hoping we get some nice weather :-) 

You can also get a throttle control on your bike this way no chance of accidentally over doing the throttle- we were thinking that if I ended up getting the 1100- but since Iam not then no.

i like the black but then i prefer black in most things.

Black bikes always look slicker and sportier to me, but it depends what you are after.
My bike of choice is a GSXR 1000 or a Triumph Daytona or a ninja, mm mmm mmmmm :-)

I like the Ducati's too, I would love the 749 in Yellow like here

my hubby has the Triumph Daytona 675 SE beautiful bike till he hit a deer at 85mph and it resulted in this. But pleased that after him having for 8 weeks and the workshop have had it for 8 weeks that it is back on the road!! He is 1 very lucky chap

Like I said I love the crotch rockets, was thinking on getting the 749 then the 999 untill they came out with the 848- but talking with some people on how it is over all on your wrists and back it can play on it especially if you have problems with them which i now do due to car accident grrr so going for my naked bike monster 696 heheheh

Was your hubby ok? When someone turned infront of my hubby last summer we ended up having his bike written off (totaled) cause you never really know how the frame would be- he still has pins in his ankle suppose to go in soon to have them removed- his foot was basically amputated the skin held it on- but glad to say he got another bike and was riding this year wooohooo!!!
