I live in north London and several of the dogs at our club have gone down with KC, wondered if anyone else in the area was having an outbreak? We had to cancel one of our club displays which was a shame. So far nobody seems in danger thank goodness.

We've had an outbreak down here (E Sussex) since August :-(  The vet ran out of antibiotics apparently.  The other problem was that in this area, even vaccinated dogs  were getting it.  We had one dog that contracted it but that was from out of the area, none of my other dogs got it even the two that were living with him.

We didn't go anywhere for two weeks after the last symptoms.  First stop was a new ringcraft for me with a pup that the breeder had kindly held onto until we were over it.  Walked in, no joke 3 dogs were coughing.  We walked out after 10 minutes.  Can't believe people can be so selfish or is it just ignorance?

Was at vets for boosters today & vet said there had been loads of dogs in with kennel cough. I'm in Co. Durham.

It's been around here in Fife too.

Years ago before I had come across it my dogs started coughing on the way home from a show. I was mortified when I found out what it was but to this day will swear that I never noticed them coughing earlier in the day!

I have heard a lot of cases in the Middlesex/Surrey area, particularly in Feltham/Ashford/Sunbury. I took my girl to the vet for a check up and the vet suggested we don't take her out in case she catches something as it is so prevalent where I live. Not good!

An outbreak down here in Coventry too. Vet states that due to the fluctuating weather it is spreading like wildfire. Local kennels who insisit all dogs have intrac kc vac have also got it, appears to be quite a nasty strain of it too. I have 5 down with it at the moment, touch wood the other 6 seem fine at the mo.

Down in Hampshire we have been having intermittent outbreaks since christmas last year!

I'm just back from a vet trip (North East Scotland) and they have a large sign on the front desk warning pet owners about it. It's far more prevalent than any other year, and for once they aren't blaming show dogs ;-)

Has anyone used or heard of the use of food grade hydrogen peroxide for the treatment for kennel cough? Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on it, from what I have read on the internet it almost seems too good to be true.

Seems to be doing the rounds in Sussex now as well. Was told it was quite bad in the very east of East Sussex, though now its on the border of the 2 Sussex's. SO far my dogs have not caught it and i hope that they don't.
Seems pretty rife in most parts of the country from all accounts.

My dog has just been in kennels for a week.  We picked him up on Wednesday and yesterday he started showing signs of kennel cough.  Today he is much worse.  I informed the kennels and they said they had an outbreak a few months ago and they hope it isn't back.  I am based in Bucks. I have never seen a dog with kennel cough before; it really sounds awful doesn't it?  Feel very sorry for my boy.

Yes, here in Kent too. My friends flyball team had to cancel an event last week because of it, and my friend had her dog diagnosed with it yesterday. Our vet said that he had seen more cases this month than in the previous year altogether.

Here in Somerset too :(, 3 dogs who we usually meet up with on our walks have been confirmed this week with kennel cough.

A lot of the training schools around South London and Surrey have recently started requiring dogs to have the KC vaccine, as apparently they are seeing a lot of it around.

Unfortunately, our vet won't even consider vaccinating our eleven week old pup for quite a while yet, as he doesn't like to give the vaccine to puppies and "it's very rare for dogs to die from the effects of kennel cough". That's fine, but it has made it difficult for us to find puppy socialisation classes that will take our puppy without having the kennel cough vaccine, and lots of dogs die from the effects of being badly socialised/untrained.

My dogs all had kennel cough three weeks ago. I got the herbal nosodes and swear it stopped the coughing. I live in the North East. My lot got it after my new puppy arrived she was 12 weeks old and I feel she came with it but she is fine, my friend looked after her for me for a few days and her dogs caught it also her two week old pups got it, they are doing well and got through it ok, so they do get over it.

We are in Peterborough and we took Milo to the vets tonight as we knew he was 'not quite right' and was making a funny noise in his throat (novice's that we are :-)) he too has kennel Cough and is on a course of Antibiotics. Poor love. The vet didn't bat an eyelid when I said I would take him home and give him a hot water bottle , lots of love and cuddles and feed him soup for his poorly throat !!.
