If my bitches went fussy, which there not, I would try anything to get them to eat, from cheese sprinkled on chicken to steak, try everything that she usually would'nt eat and then she might find something that she quite likes, chicken, or mince and tinned fish, eg sardines, pilchards in tomato sauce is always a favourite in our house!!

My girl has had 2 litters and on both occassions has got very fussy with her food. I would try boiled chicken & rice or coley fish steaks & rice. You could also try natural bio yoghurt on her food as it maybe her tum is unsettled. After a few days if you can get her eating something like this, then gradually re-introduce her normal food on one side of the plate and mix in the other food to encourage her to start eating as normal. Good Luck.

My girl did exectly the same, I found adding scrambled eggs to her normal dried food helped. This only lasted a week, and she was soon happy to go back to just dried food!

Our females go fussy also when in whelp, as has been said try tuna, or sardines, anything to get then to eat, as pregnancy progresses you probably find they go greedy, best of luck with your litter.

Definately try her on anything stinky or fishy. Try cutting up frying steak into strips and giving it a quick 'dry-fry' in the pan. Just enough to release the juices.
Strong hard cheeses are usually a good trigger to eat too.
As said before try anything, dont worry about her getting picky and wanting only that after the bubs are born. She should return to normal without too much fuss.
Goodluck!

i was just wondering how to put a photo of my girl on my chat?

You can't :) The only place you can put pics is in your blog or have a link in your profile :)

How about the mince that some people feed raw? The chicken and tripe one really stinks if warmed up a little but gets fuss pots to eat?

hi ihad the same problem my bitch is now at 7 weeks gestation and eating for england she stopped eating at about 4-5 weeks i tried all complete dry food to no avail so i gave in and fed her chicken and mincemeat but like i said she is now eating fine again. i think they just go off their food like we can during pregnancy good luck x

My vet who is a big dog breeder told me to try goats milk,it has lots of calories and is unlikely to cause an upset stomach, works a treat with my bitches.

Mines always been a fussy little moo and had the odd day of not eating. Shes only 3 lb as it is. It was all i could do to get her to eat enough while pregnent. Unfortunately now shes decided to join the race to a size zero, while feeding 2 week old pups. Luckily for the moment their fat and healthy, but some days she wont even eat fresh cooked chicken or drink the nutro-lac puppy milk. Ive tried grating cheese in it, smelly pilchards and tripe to no avail. She just picks and choses when she wants to eat. She worrys me, especially with babies to feed as shes looking quite thin now.
So im interested too of anything that might help.
yes it is a worry my girl was the same she wouldnt eat till her babys were about 3weeks old and i was starting to wean them lol i was lucky she would eat chicken and beef and tripe and fish ...now shes not eating much and going thin again and our pups go tomorrow :(
i dont know what to say about your little girl ...may she could have something brewing? infection maybe ?
