The meat content seems a little low for me as that is the level I woudl expect ain an adult better end food, adn with part of that being fresh chicklen (wet weight) the actual meat content is less.

Other than that it seems OK unless yoru dog has yeast issues (skin or ear yeast infections), or ahs problems with maize.

prarie meal sounds a bit vague- the better the ingredients, the more detailed they are. doesn't look too bad. Was it expensive?

Prairie meal is a byproduct of maize,it's a way of splitting up the cereal content so it looks like less.

Thanks for the info,  The food is Jolley's Pet Store own brand.

We spent a good hour looking at all the Ingredients from Chudleys , to Iams , to Hills, to Pro Plan .

In some of the Top brand feeds like Iams , the first ingredient was maize?, then less than 20% Chicken.

Pro Plan was Chicken first , but only 18%.

After much deliberation, we concluded that the food was good, compared to the bigger brands, and costs £26 for a 15kg bag.

And the most important thing is he's eating it and loving it !

Here's some pics of our GR boy, he's 8 months old now  http://www.flickr.com/photos/30955672@N07/?saved=1
