I am currently thinking of getting a red and white . I have heard that there are health problems with the breed in the US. Could you please tell me of any problems that you have heard of? I spent quite a bit of time searching the web but could not find info on heatlh problems.

Have you tried contacting any of the breed clubs for information, either on your side of the pond or here in the UK ? If you need any help in locating addresses try The American Kennel Club or The British Kennel Club. I am sure that they can point you in the right direction :-)

I'm Labradors so it's not my breed but I know of four (two of which are members of the breed club) and have never heard of anything much specific. As far as eye testing is concerned they are only on the list for Hereditary Cataract so do not appear to have that much problems. I'll be interested to hear what others have to say.
