I had a Gordon Setter who had terrible arthritis in her rear legs - she could only manage a couple of steps before collapsing.  Monthly accupuncture made her mobile again.  It's not "in the mind", it works.

I too am a great believer in natural remediies and alternative therapies , my daughter is studying homeopathy,and she has converted me.

love accupuncture, i have it myself and have helped out at a clinic, works wonders. i've even heard of race horses getting it. my uncle uses it on his dogs.

my 4yr old sibe is currently on his 4th session of acupuncture for a spinal prob
difficult to know how much effect its havin at mo as hes not doing too well but am encouraged to def continue with his sessions

My old gsd was helped greatly by accupuncture, I do believe its one of those treatments that is very individual and that some dogs respond really well, whilst others not so much.  It helped me to get him sound after a long standing injury and then to help his coping with arthritis.  However, one of my bitches has an injury which does not seem to have been helped with accupuncture.  As I said, I think it really depends on the dog and the type of problem.

A friend of mine had a collie who suffered from a spinal stroke and accupuncture seemed to help.

I'd say its definitely worth trying.

Also I have had accupuncture and I didn't feel it made a difference to my knee injury. Again, we are all individual.

for myself I had chiro on my back for almost nine months, then physio, then pain killers had to be resorted to as nothing had helped up till then, I was on the painkillers for one and a half years then I got accupuncture and MAGIC it helped.  I couldnt believe that I didnt need to wear my tens machine every day. Brilliant
