I guess they can get throat infections just like the rest of us but the ref to
chomping IMO suggests actually in the mouth (a sign of discomfort when eating) so most likely to be one of sore gums, something caught between teeth or something on/irritating the roof of the mouth .....
Are you able to get a
really good look all around her teeth, gums, pallate and tongue (top and bottom)? One of my girls behaved similarly and had a small shard of bone caught in the inside of her upper molar and roof of the mouth which was obviously bothering her when eating but not so obvious prior to that (it had been an earlier meal that she'd eaten rmbs). It took a lengthy period of poking around to find the cause and a little more on top to remove it.
