Hi

I have a 6 month old Maltese whom eventually when old enough I would like to put out for stud. Is there anyone out there who could tell me a bit more about how to go about this or where I could get some information about it from.

Start with joining a breed club, study the breed lines of the best examples of your breed, and your own dog. Find out what the health problems are within the breed and have your boy tested for them. Speak to your lads breeder for advice. The best way to have a succesfull stud is to show him and have him win well, you will then have a chance of attracting the best of bitches and of producing puppies that will better the breed. Before you go to far take him to a few shows and see what other breeder think because if they don't like him they wont use him. Ja:)kie
