What's that all about...
I've been told by a few people that their (QVC) 350 tc Egyptian cotton are the best they've tried and have raved about the quality.

But I've just bought some and washed them...... they look like a bunch of rags and 1 hour later I just cant iron the creases out.
I've done them damp and used a steam iron but still not good enough.
They do feel nice but it's just such a pain to send them back.
What a let down.
Rant over.. thank you for your time :-(

Yes it was probably too boring to post ....perhaps I should get out more :-D

Oh Toolz - LOL!  Do you feel better for ranting though?  No experience with the item in question, but I do know that my Eqyptian cotton sheets are a devil to iron too.

Ironing - sheets !!  - you girls need to get out more, life is too short to iron bedding!! :-D :-D

I'll second that!!

I see your problem here - ironing sheets! Egyptian cotton sheets are like wearing linen clothing. They're never supposed to be perfectly flat. I take them straight from the dryer and flop them on the bed. Iron a sheet - ha... ha ha ha.... HA HA HA HA :) Call me lazy, call me messy but you'll never call me frustrated with an iron. ROFL After a few sweaty nights in the sack they'll flatten a little anyway :-p

Think I should write a book on homemaking?

Call me obsessive, call me compulsive - I just have to iron my sheets, can't stand them all wrinkled :) :)

Egyptian cotton sheets are not the easiest to get wrinkle free but sheer grit and determination gets you through :) I also iron the duvet cover and pillow slips but don't go so far as to iron underwear. I hate ironing as well - but hate wrinkly bed linen even more :)

It's the only housework chore that I can't let go :)

OK Lizzie, you're obsessive-compulsive LOL

We do need to get you out more as well!

tooolz, toooooolz, toooooooooolz,

Poor wee soul :(  Fear not, I have the solution - get the the hired help to do it (I know you have them ;) )  Just instruct her/him/them to iron/press/steam (or whatever it is they do these days  ) while sheets / covers / duvets etc still ever so slightly damp.  Voila  (my lady gets them perrrrfect!)

If they're on a break (or sick - the cheek of 'em!) then put it directly on the bed even less slightly damp and get next door's kid to iron them on top of the mattress (furthering the home education of the future generation - you'll be doing a huge service to the nation and sleeping almost wrinkle free :-D )

To perfect the art of sleeping entirely wrinkle free can I recommend Gatineau - a personally preferred purchase from aforementioned source ;)

Harley I'm with you - I really wish I could bring myself to not mind, but I can't and there is nothing like going to bed in clean, line dried, well ironed, high-thread-count sheets!!

If I had oodles of cash that would be my one luxury - clean sheets every day and someone to iron the bedding and make the beds :)

Toolx - I've found the best way with these type of sheets is to make sure you don't overfill the washing machine, as it adds creases; tumble dry for 10 mins to warm the linen, then stretch tight on the washing line to finish (pref on a windy day).   If you bring them in before they are completely dry or use a spray you should then be able to iron them reasonably easily.  When push comes to shove I have also been able to put them straight on the bed and iron in situ - it's actually easier and more effective than it sounds!!

Generally I'd say that life is too short for ironing but it does gives me guilt free time to watch TV and fabulous nights in bed - who can ask for more?! :)

put the sheets on the bed and take the dogs for a walk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol

Keep trying - it's worth it! Unironed sheets, even though you know they're clean because you washed them yourself, always feel like you're sleeping in a dirty bed. Freshly laundered, crisply ironed cotton sheets are about the best luxury in the world!

Oh
I am so pleased there are other saddos out there.......

Now the whole story....
I wouldn't normally be seen dead ironing anything :-) ( how did you guess Teri?) But......
My designated ironer ( Hubby) is at a swanky do without me and my Sister is coming to stay tonight  :-o and I'm like a headless chicken getting things just right.
'Ur what does is poorly ...... well enough to do dog stuff  - but not strong enough to tackle the blimmin bedding.
It was the big sister who told me she only sleeps on Northern night bedding.... :-(

Well she can iron the thing when she gets up in the morning..........

Got to dash.......Thanks for the support girls...much appreciated   xx

ps Lori... put me down for one of yer books :-)
