Topic Dog Boards / General / Dog Venues

I have been asked to try and get a list together for our breed club, of venues throughout the Midlands and South of the UK that may be available to use for dog events.
We would be using them for things like obedience, agility, flyball and working trials training days as well as fun days and maybe the odd show.
Does anyone know of any that are available to use, indoor and if we are lucky out door facilities ? Also with car parking :-) and if possible any contact details ?

Many Thanks,
Gabrielle

Try http://www.thedobermannclub.co.uk/facilities.html

Great venue and easily accessible (just off the A1 at Welwyn Garden City, Herts).

A fair few dog events are held as Ashfordby Sports Club http://www.asfordbyamateurs.co.uk/ - outdoors located in Leicestershire. Went to the Large Munsterlander show here a couple of years back and the venue was nice.

The village halls at Baginton and Mappleborough Green both seem to be used for lots of breed club events. Sorry I don't have a contact for either of them.

Bradfield Village Hall is a short way from J12 of the M4. Decent sized hall, fair kitchen, cheap to hire ... heyoooooge field outside that can also be used.

Chievely Village Hall is lovely...it's not far from Newbury Showground (where Southern Counties Ch Show is held). Just off J13 of the M4.

Beware of Bradfield if you're likely to have disabled visitors that can't walk - there are no disabled toilets.

Just 5 mins from the M25 Dartford Interchange is Orsett Show Ground - used by Agility/Obedience clubs - but there are no buildings/loos on site - need marquees/portaloos for everything.   Try these contacts :- http://www.orsettshow.co.uk/contactus.htm

if you want bigger then their is stafford showground and also the new kc building at stoneleigh

Emma

Edited to say - the ryton on dunsmore leisure centre must be good value as their is always a dog show/event on their.  I doubt the sports hall ever gets used for actual sport.

Chievely also has a huge field but sometimes the football pitch is in use, check with the hall secretary before hand.  The hall isn't that big and one of the halls I'm sure doesn't allow dogs (but don't quote me) as there are two halls to use.

Stoneleigh (Royal Agricultural Centre) for outdoors - already used by Leamington Club for working trials training.
