i noticed this  advert  and wondered if this  be the way forward for  some breeders???.

No surprises there unfortunately.  Disassociating themselves from the KC since the BBC documentary seems to be yet another way for PFs and BYB to offload their poorly reared pups - and tailor made for them too by so called animal lovers exposing bad practices 

Yes it's great excuse for them -and saves them money too! :(

but i can see this becoming a regular add on lots of puppy selling sites
i just found a kennel site selling,  pedigree gundogs, and lots of sorts of crosses
run like a sho open 7 days a week
plus they are a horse stud too
very prof looking website
but they are churning them out

also an excuse for the bitch  to have pups season after season............

one site  i came across is a local authority approved kennel, breeding
labs, cocker spaniels,,beagles,standard poodles,lhasa apsos,pugs
plus
puggles,labradoodles,cockerpoos,golden doodles,
cross breeds
pug Xjack russel terriers,
lhasa apsoXpug.
pedigree dogs  are KC registered, they show and do BVA eye testing
all dogs come with pedigree
and place is open 7 days aweek
and have been in newspapers and fancy magazines.

if the Kc wish to surpport these types of kennels , maybe we do need a new KC
i hope the dogs trust and rspca can afford to build new kennels because there will be a lot more dogs in rescue in the future
maybe us honest ,show, testing people should give up.

Montymoo I think this is the same kennels I had mentioned in another thread, they are also a KC Accredited Breeder and are using that status in an advert I have seen for their 'doodles'. Did the kennel name begin with a 'W'?

Someone suggested I report them to the KC, so I called them and they basically said there's nothing they can do about it. It's a shame really, as joe public will see 'KC Accredited' and assume that all of the different xbreeds they have are all KC reg'd or approved in some way.

With the amount of breeds they have, they are nothing short of a puppy farmer really.

That was the response I got the time I reported something to the Kennel Club. Has anyone else had anything more satisfactory from them after reporting something? Just curious really.

That's so true , I have met a man on my dog walking travels a few times and he thinks , as he bought his dog from an Accredited KC breeder , he can pay £125.00 and get the dog registered ... The dog is 3 .... I have tried to explain but my words fall on deaf ears . he is adamant he can register the dog for this price and use him at stud ...

In reply to reporting a breeder to the KC.
I have a friend who reported the breeder she got her dog from as her dog had severe epilepsy and died at 2 yrs old after having a horrible turn .She discovered that several pups from her dogs litter and previous litters all had the same condition yet pups wers still being bred and registered. She was also told that they could not do anything and advised her to go and see the breeder herself and ask her to stop using the dog for breeding.
I thought that they would have at least contacted the breeder to  advised them to stop using the dog and if he sired any more litters, the pups would not be registered.
Why do the KC not take action in cases such as this if they have been told that there is a problem with the sire of registered pups ?

I suppose in reality the KC are only registers of dogs, it's the Breed Clubs that should have more power over these breeders and if there were enough reports through the Breed Clubs then they themselves could go to the KC as a much stronger unit.  Unfortunately heresay and not enough back up from elsewhere can't really make the KC do anything.

Trading standards is a better way to go, with a lot of witness backup from other puppy owners and the vets they may have been able to prosecute this woman, then she may have been dealt with by the kc and her puppies stopped from being registered, but it wouldn't necessarily stop her breeding. Some people are simply pigs! (well, thats insulting pigs which is unfare but you know what I mean :) )

but it really bugs me to see fancy kennel web sites breeding loads of diff breeds
plus mutts
and claiming they are good breeders when all they are is puppy farmers
money seems to be the main aim, and blow where the puppy ends up
to me the rspca and the Kc are not doing their jobs right

Fortunately I am not looking to have another dog for somewhile  however after all the posts I have been reading, not just on this forum I would be really worried about how to find a fit healthy dog from a responsible caring breeder. It looks like so far I have been really lucky because my dogs have been fit and health and I have kept in touch with their breeders throughout their lives for help and support or just friendship. It seems to have become a mine field 

People need to be educated more, if they have all the facts about unreg puppies, maybe they would be less likely to buy one, and if there is no business for these types of breeders they might, just might give it up!! Well here's hoping. Lois
