- By briedog [gb] Date 14.09.08 14:07 UTC
i am looking for a lift up to driffield show on saturday with pagan 1 dog.early in the morning, but not home due to friend coming over from aboard is meeting me here and is coming back to me to stay for two day with her car and dogs.

so instead of taken my car both ways and her following me back down it would be easy if i can get a lift and will pay 1/2 to petrol up there.to anyone .

any offers pagan and i dont bit we be very good in the car,

Teri, I would but at the moment my OH is working in Sheffield on the Thursday / Friday so im planning to get the train up there (that way hotels, meals etc are on his company including petrol to get home ;)  ) if anything changes I will let you know.

My OH is going to be in Sheffield so im going Basingstoke to Derby (its cheaper than going to Sheffield) and he is picking me up at Derby then we are going to get a travel lodge, and yes, im taking Alf on the train - should be interesting.  Thankfully ive found a home for Fagan for the night, I dont think he would like the train

If your friends are happy to collect you I think the nearest station would be Leeds or Harrogate (its about £45 one way to Leeds) Harewood house is about 7 miles from the station.

Made me smile :)

I've only just realised that dog showing requires an alternative geography and that 'normal' people cannot be expected to understand that Paignton is in Exeter; Manchester in Stafford; Richmond in Guildford; Bournemouth is in Lyndhurst etc.  Just as my friend thought she was getting the alternative bit sussed she asked where Bath was?  Well in Bath - obviously!!

I'm afraid I can't help Briedog but just wanted to say I agree with your post dogs a babe, I got confused once with the City of Birmingham and the National and ended up driving to Stafford only to find the show was in Coventry!! Luckily I wasn't showing but I was very late!
