- By Teri Date 14.09.08 12:56 UTC
Thanks Alice and to everyone  :)

It's mind blowing that we nearly decided to skip both Richmond and Darlington (but as hotels were booked for both shows and prepaid,  being canny Scots we couldn't see the hard cash go to waste :-D )

I hope everyone else that made the trip however long or short had a successful day too :)

T & M x

Thanks Yvonne & Trevor,

His litter sister that Linda has also won the RCC - so a family affair :)  No CCs at Driffield for us but we'll possibly catch up after that if you're going to any of the remaining shows :)

I've been in the mud hole all day so only getting to whoop for you now.

Whooop, whoooop, whooop  :-p

Congratulations Teri. I'm chuffed to bits I got a 4th- RCC and group 3 - I'd be over the moon. You must be pleased.

> wer ye awfee Blootered the night??!!!

 shock, horror, protest ........ (not all night :-D )

Honest Liv, stone cold sober but in a state of elated exhaustion (I'm sure there's another word for that but might prove shocking to the pc brigade - you get my drift LOL)

> Hugs to Golden Balls!!

red raw with hugs already LOL.  Got your text - you're picking up the lingo and the technology just fine chick ;)

You'd have thought MadAss would be shattered after such a long day - got home around 9-30pm and he played non stop with his big sis until gone midnight!!! (she's well named for sure).  On the plus side he's having a lengthy lie in today (bliss ;) ) and I'm still scraping, picking and pre-washing layers of mud off everything.

Hi Lori,

> I've been in the mud hole all day

h@llish, wasn't it!  The sun came out yesterday afternoon and some itsy bitsy patches started to dry out - well, after a fashion - so instead of skidding and sinking everywhere it was more like being in quicksand (nearly lost my footwear a few times never mind my footing LOL).

Couldn't believe it when the judge asked me to take him round twice, then twice up and down and back round twice again in the challenge   By then the ring was REALLY bad and I was terrified I'd slip and flatten the little guy (pup that is, not judge  ).  Monster man loved it though and somehow managed to stay clean (well, he was wiping his feet all day on anything with a pulse :-D )  The joys!

Well done to you too - no mean feat in your breed kiddo :)

Thanks for the support!  Teri

The smell today Teri - Caoimhe wouldn't get her nose off the ground. That's unusual for her. So many dogs have added their fluids to the barnyard smell already so prevalent she just couldn't help herself. It didn't rain though.

Tell you what - running in wellies in hard work. Twice around the ring, triangle, I was puffed. Of course I was carrying an extra 5 lbs of clarty clay on my feet. ;-)

> and somehow managed to stay clean (well, he was wiping his feet all day on anything with a pulse  )

ROFL - We need to get gundogs and pastoral on the same day so I can see this little mental monster in the flesh! (reminds self to stay behind Caoimhe when meeting MM)

> We need to get gundogs and pastoral on the same day so I can see this little mental monster in the flesh!

Ooooh, now that would be fun (and you can't blame me either - you've been forewarned ..... :-D )
- By Lori Date 14.09.08 16:19 UTC
That's our goal then - start checking those schedules. I'll bring the waterproofs! :-D
- By newf3 [gb] Date 15.09.08 16:34 UTC
VERY WELL DONE TO YOU BOTH

I had a look on your website Teri...your lad is rather beautiful isn't he :-) I'll have to come and say hello next time I'm at a show. I'm quite glad I didn't go as my friend who I usually go with said she had to carry her 2 dogs with the help of her hubby to the show ring to stop them from getting dirty, then her youngest wouldn't show due to the conditions !!
- By Teri Date 15.09.08 21:12 UTC
Thanks Alice - he is a bit of a looker but we never tire of compliments :-D   Please do come and say hi when next showing yourself - it's always nice to be able to meet up with fellow CD fans and I can get to meet your gorgeous Sams too (one of my fave breeds and in fact a breed I nearly went into many moons ago :) ).

When we were arriving a couple were trying desperately to steer a trolley & cages through the mud and 3 RCs on leads - TBH my dogs have NEVER been as dirty as those poor dogs were, even on their wildest walks whether moors, forests or beaches!!! and it must have taken their owners ages to get their coats looking even barely presentable.  We carried Midas in to both Richmond and Darlington as the entrance gates at each were in a really bad way but the rest of the time he spent lying on a board covered with vet bed and a couple of towels so he wasn't cold, damp or uncomfortable.

Shame your friend's dogs didn't make the most of themselves - a lot of dogs looked less than happy in various rings :(
