We have a 3 yr old castrated Labrador dog .. quite boisterous and loves kids and other dogs.. For the first 18 mnths he had 2 cavalier spaniels to play with .. they were both very old and eventually died...the Lab' misses them both but we want a dog that will keep up with the Lab' and be happy in the cold and wet/muddy walks we seem to end up on..It will also have to get on with and be robust enough to cope with our 3 children (9 , 8 , 5 )..Will a border terrier and a labrador be compatable and if so, bitch or dog ..we do not want a show dog but a happy healthy dog is for us.. Several other terrier breeds have been mentioned but most seem a bit snappy/intolerant.. Borders always seem more carefree and less snappy..any advice would be appreciated .. also any upcoming litters available now or Feb '03...Christmas is not the time to buy and settle a puppy......
