have you checked the pups nails ? , do they need cutting? if so could be the reason mum is not too keen to feed them
hiya thanks to all your replys..mom is drinking and eating plenty...pups nails arent too long ..when mom gets into where the pups are she will sit in there wiv her back to them...she cleans them and so on but her boobs are getting smaller by the day...tried them on the baby rice and goats milk and they loved it...i do want to feed them and the raw diet so can anyone advise me when i can do this...they will be 3 weeks old 2moz.....thanks also its not a big litter well she had 8....
8 is still a big litter to feed :) my girl had 12 but 4 died so she as 8 also :) i gave mine tiny balls of raw mince meat but it as to be the frozen kind !! and then defrost , i put the milk in with it and they loved it !!! :) or blend it all to gether keep it sloppy still ,my girl is starting to turn her back on them now too but mine are 5 weeks on monday ,pups woke me this morning crying :( mumwas lying there and just listening to them !! i made her get in and her milk was full !! ,but mine are on 4-5 meals aday now so i make mum go in 3times a day and i stay there so sge feed them , start with just 2 meals and lots of goats milk all day for a few days then when thay get to 4weeks 3-4 meals and then 4-5 small meals ,make sure theres some water for them but make sure thay not be able to fall in to it !!
:) :) x

The amount of milk your seeing and the length of time she is feeding them is no indicator of how much they are getting, as they can take more in one go and faster the older they get
Are they gaining weight steadily, and are they contented?
they are very contended and gainin sufficient weight but when you pick them up they are looking for food...dont want to start them too early on food but dont want them to starve either
mom wont even get in the box wiv the pups now dont know what else to do..pups are crying after mom..

Have the pups nails been cut at least once (more like twice) a week. Also is there any chance the bitch is unwell showing signs of eclampsia which can manifest most often at this age of peak milk production. Signs are often behavioural, staring at walls, etc. What about her glands are they hot or inflamed?
Can't remember if this is a first litter, but could be that she is not very maternal, but if she was good until now I would be worried about her health..
pups nails are cut once to twice a week...she is showing no signs of illness at all and is very happy in herself.....this is her 3rd and final litter of pups as we r planning on keeping a female to keep her company.....she has been very maternal on her last 2 litters which is y i dont understand why she is like this think i am going to take her to the vets to see what he says....had to put pups on food and they love it they get messy but its fun watching them
hi bexyboo ,hows it going with the pups? are thay still eating well ? and how is mum now ? lol :) :) x
