With regards to the tickets going on sale soon for crufts 2009, i have a few questions as this si my first time going, yippee. Firstly do they sell out quickly, i will be going down with my boy and partner, but my mum may come down depending on childcare and work, and i dont want her to not buy a ticket and they sell out quickly or equally buy one and then cant go.
Also, with a dog that qualifies, when entered, is it just one person that gets to accompany it? Both my partner and i are owners, but does  he need to buy a ticket or does he get to come in with me and dog? Thanks

The tickets that go on sale pre-Crufts are normally at a reduced rate, you can still buy tickets on the day at the door for the normal rate - they will not sell out. Sorry cannot remember if the tickets with dogs are for one or two people, someone else will know though.

The actual Entry tickets never sell out, it's easier to buy in advance saves having to queue to get in

If you have a dog that qualifies it depends on who owns it how many tickets you get to get in. A dog in joint partnership gets two entry tickets so your partner will not have to pay

Believe you can also order tickets when you enter at a reduced price it is also often possible to get handler tickets if someone has entered several dogs but only needs a couple of tickets so to get an extra one nearer the date is often possible.

Yes, you can get extra tickets if other friends / family want to come. Might also be worth considering a drop off pass so someone can drop you and dog at the entrance and then go and park, rather than having to trek from the car park with the dog. Make sure you get the right number of passes and tickets with the right number of people who are getting out or staying with the car though!

thanks very much guys, im really excited, only started showing this summer, with my first ever ridgeback and qualified at first champ show at 6 1/2 months so im still over the moon. Only downside is hounds are the thursday, so thats a good few days off work for me, my partner and my mum. oh well, may never happen again!

The tickets that sell out, and that are the ones people buy as early as around October, are for the Best in Show final at the main ring.

Wow, is it that time already!! I swear the ticket sales get earlier and earlier :)
I want a best in group seat ticket so must book that in advance.  Plus that means the entry forms will be out in a month or two.  Have 2 qualified this year, hopefully our youngest girl will get her act together at the last couple of shows and join the crew too.  Fingers crossed.

Emma, you don't need tickets for the group anymore unless it's on the sunday in which case you will need a BIS ticket.

if you are showing on the Sunday and want to watch the BIS what do people do with thier dogs?
Obviously they cant be left unattended (god forbid) I probably prefer to go home and watch on the tele!

What do you do with your dog if you want to go and watch the group judging - is it a case of leaving someone in charge at the bench whilst one of you goes to watch?

Also anyone who is a member of the Y.K.C gets a free pass.You need to e mail or write for a pass though - including Discover Dogs as a badge no longer gets you in.
If you take 3 dogs is this still 2 passes, as my daughter wants to handle as well,so makes 3 handling all together.
Weldone Suz for qualifying.Our first time last year.Managed to get our 2 pups to qualify as well for this year...So a handful for us.

Thanks for that ice-queen, I was on sunday last year so of course it was sold out and couldnt see group apart from on the big screens :(
On a thursday this year so one less thing to worry about.

Edited to say, I am lucky so dont have to leave my dogs on the benches.  I only live about 15 mins away from the NEC so I take the dogs home and come back to do my shopping and group watching etc.  Unless of course I ever get through to group (I can but dream of getting that far :) )

I got though to the group this year and my mum stayed out and watched on the screens with the dogs whilst my Dad and brother came in.

What I didn;t know was there was benching in the collecting ring where my Mum could have left the dogs safely with the stewards etc :(  If I ever manage it again I know what to do next time :)
