A lot of breeders start weaning with a mixture of mince beef and puppy formula.  Looks sort of like a pink gruel if you use a blender.  Our last litter wouldn't eat until 5 weeks.  Luckily there was only 4 pups, mum had lots of milk and they were very fat.

I have started any time after eyes open if weight gain a bit slow and pups seemed hungry.

I usually start at 18 days so that by the time I worm them they are having solids.

I have had pups who Mum has done really well show little or not interest until over 4 weeks of age, each litter is different as to when pups are ready for this stage.

I generally wean from 3 weeks old onto Arden Grange Weaning food, well soaked like a porridge consistency & warm. Mine love it & once they are on it I never look back.
I have used the Pedigree Weaning Porridge on a litter when the bitch had no milk & I weaned the pups at 10 days old. They were ready for it & once they were lapping that up the mothers milk started to appear!

Similar to you Weima except I don't bother with the weaning food but put them straight onto the puppy food using Nutrolac goats milk based puppy formula to make the porridge.

I prefer to start pups on what Mum is being fed (Prestige or Puppy) mixed with the milk, and gradually increase, then reduce phase out the milk during weaning.

I don't give mine meat until they are well established on the kibble as meat will always get preference from pups, and most new owners will feed complete.

I like mine to have meat at one meal a day from 4 weeks for those owners who may want to go onto a more natural feeding regime.

Do you mean the Puppy/Junior? I start off on Weaning/Puppy [the tiny kibble]

Yes the puppy Junior, I find the tiny kibble of the weaning puppy at 32% protein too rich to use with milk.

I have in the past used weaning puppy AG for all my litters, no problems, but i never added  milk, now i use Happy Dog and they love it.
