I read what you said and it reminded me about something which happened last year to one of our Rescue volunteers I will refer to as X ,I could always rely on him to foster the odd boisterous labs for me and he would put in lots of work with them,he would take them to our local country park.In the news at that time a young man had been shot(not killed) anyway there was posters all around and it was a big story, one morning I had a call from Blackburn CID asking if I was the co ordinator of labrador Rescue and could he come and see me,It was mind boggling any way he came and started asking about X,he said that dog walkers in the local park (all women) had informed them that X looked like the attacker,X was taken in for questioning, finger printed dna samples taken etc,all his crime was was waering a woolly hat in winter whilst walking,he looked to me nothing like the photo fit,he had also haeld a gun licence,X is a really nice person and would help anyone at all,all thses ladies had chatted to him thats how they knew he fostered for us,and luckily he didnt mind hellping the police,His only crime ever Walking his dog in the park whilst wearing a woolly hat,I have to say that my dear friend had him hung, drawn and quartered without any evidence at all !(sad world isnt it)
Good - I assumed that your point was that he was innocent, but wondered if the police still had a question mark.
It is so sad today, a dad can't even sit and play with their child or child's friend on their knee without wondering if he'll be accused of something awful. I don't envy being a man in today's climate with regard to abuse issues.
