Hi all, i know this has been covered alot but was just wondering if its normal for a bitchs temperature to be lower in the morning? my girls due in 8 days, friday night her temp was 37.1, saturday morning it was 36.8 saturday night it was 37.6, this morning it was the lowest ever at 36.5 now this evening its 37.7, i know it has to drop and stay down but what i was wondering is if its normal for it to be so low in the mornings then higher in the evenings?
Thanks in advance x

Just looked at my records, the few days before she whelped her temp was 37.5 am and 37.7pm, 37.5am and 37.7pm, 37.6 am and 37.1pm, 36.6 am and 36.8 pm, then puppies early the next morning.  Don't know if that helps or not :-) .
Good Luck.

my bitch was really low in the morning and then went up in the evening too.. her temperature also lowered once she had done a poo, so i guess taking a rectal temperature isnt too accurate

Her temp is still up and down, but she lost her mucus plug this morning a little digging but nothing major, hope she holds on a few more days yet x

My last litter, my girl was absolutely massive, she had 9 pups (all survived) which is quite a big litter for a cocker spaniel, she whelped on day 62.
