Hi,

Has anybody ordered canvas prints from the internet(ones where they use your picture).
I want to get some done but would like recommendations as where they do nice quality ones...

I've been looking to get some done and I found this company this morning tshirtstudio.com. I haven't ordered the canvas yet, but some mugs and mousemats (which aren't too expensive) to check the quality of their work.

Had a mousemat made from tshirtstudio with movie photo which we uploaded and names. the quality and price was excellent. The whole design service was easy. HTH

They seem quite expensive.  I'll ask on the photography site that I go on if anyone knows of any good companies.

That would be great as they are pretty expensive even when cheap but cheap price makes you think of quality and it is impossible to see the quality in the internet

beware the cheap canvas....there are so many things to look for in a canvas stretch.....we visited close to 20 manufacturers before finding one that we were happy with to supply to our clients!!
Basically you want a company that uses museum or artist grade canvas, hand made hardwood extendable stretchers with tension wedges in each corner so that the canvas can be restretched if it ever sags at some point. Use a company that hand stretches not machine stretches, and also one that uses a cross bar on wraps of over a metre. these are the basics...oh yes an beware the ones that say "canvas" but are actually just printed with a canvas effect as these are a complete rip off :((((

I've just got some done by Snapfish through Jessops.  They do great offers every so often and I got buy one get one free.  They also do fabulous photobooks.

If you (or anyone else who is interested) PMs me your email address I can recommend you and we'd both get 20 free prints for you registering.

Have a look at http://www1.snapfish.co.uk

Don't know about the canvases but their other products seemed quite expensive i.e. t-shirts etc. compared to other companies.

my mother in law did this for our 1st wedding annivery, dispite me asking her not to.
And the resulting print is the uglyest thing i have ever seen and it cost her 150quid.
waste of money for something that stayed in the box it came in for the last 12 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used http://www.outlookimages.co.uk/v5/ and found them to be very good.  Great quality printing and excellent customer service.

There is a guy in Sleaford that does brilliant prints :) My mum uses him for her fine art printing( he is a very accomplished water colour artist)(if you look in the Gallery you will see my mums pics Gloria Ward)(. and I have seen the canvases he has done from photos, even emailed to him, and they are equisit(sp?) I am waiting to save up enough money to get Matt to do a canvas of Gemmas picture.
I dont know if they do mail order, but I am sure they will be able to help if you ask,
Here is his site

This is one that's been recommended on a photography site I go on and he's via e-bay.  Have a look at it and see what you think.

hmmm.....28mm....nuff said. our are 45mm!!!
- By bettyonthebus Date 05.09.08 20:05 UTC
the company I linked to is 44mm!!!  Seriously, they're very, very good.  I'm currently looking at a canvas that's 32.5 in x 24 in (plus wraparound) and it looks just as sharp as the 6 x 4 original photo.

I don't know how they compare cost wise but I'm not in a hurry to look elsewhere.
