hi my rottie girlie will be 9yrs  in dec 11 days ago i rushed her in to my vets out of hours because she was being sick and the vomiting went on to bringing up blood she stayed in vets on a drip for 2 days had some injections to stop her from vomiting and they gave her something to line her stomach and also AB i was sent home with a course of AB and she has finished them all was well until last night when i fed her and she did not want to eat, so i soaked the food and she eat it. she is normally a pig and will eat anything she can get to.

today she was looking very quiet but thought my be she is just feeling a bit old so took her for a walk anyway. this is the first walk for 4 weeks as she has been in season and i never walk my bitches when in heat she also has very long seasons hence 4 wks.

on her walk she was very quiet not really enjoying it as normal and got tiered quickly since then she has just stayed in her bed i fed her tonight and again does not want to eat, so i soaked it again but still wont eat it.

does anyone have any ideas i don't know whether to call the vets tonight or just take her in the morning?

Is she drinking  If so more than usual?

Can you take her temperature?  Normal range is 100.5 - 102.5 F or 38 - 39.2 C but you may take her temp regularly enough to know what is normal for her. 

If in doubt I'd be onto the vet - at least a phone call anyway. 
It could be a pyo brewing, so risky IMO and TBH were she mine I'd rather my vet seen her.

temp 101.9 not drinking any more than normal and no discharge.

Dont want to alarm you but no discharge isn't a good sign as far as pyo goes - if it were a pyo infection it means its contained and not 'leaking', aka an open pyo.

Since you don't mention having running it by your vet I'll hope and pray it's something minor.  Please update when you can and in the meantime watch her constantly for signs of depression, excess thirst, lethargy or rise in temp.

I agree you probably want to get her back to the vets just in case.  As from what you are describing she is feeling weaker than normal.
Could be nothing at all but best to be safe than sorry.

thanks for your advise she is in the vets now i called them last night and they wanted me to keep a close eye on her over night so she slept with me she was ok over night but would not eat this morning and just was not her normal self i tried to take her for a walk she was happy to go but got tiered very quickly and i ended up having to leave her with a lady in our village while i ran back to get the car it was only 150yrd from home but she could not make it back i took her strait to the vets she is staying there.

they are taking bloods and said they might x-ray i then insisted that they scan as well they do not think it is pyo but i am not sure?
if not pyo then there is something very bad going on her tummy is sore and bloated today.

will update when i know more.

hoping she can take it at her age. im so worried poor girl

Gemma was an 'old' 9 1/2 rottie cross when she went in for surgery for open Pyo, I was so scared, but she came out of it fine :)
And I know quite a few of other people on here have had older dogs operated on at that age and upwards for Pyo and they have come out fine.
I know its hard as I remeber the day like it was yesterday but try to stay calm.

My First BC had a closed Pyometra @ 11 1/2, despite the fact she had a leaking heart she recoved well & lived for another 4 1/2 years.

thank you im sure she will be fine just sitting here with the phone beside me cant even consider doing house work and i gave up smoking last week could do with a cigy right now.

just heard from the vets she has come through the op and if she is still ok at 5.30 she can come home tonight.

yes got her home they said she had very large pyo showed my hubby and he said it was huge.

she is very sleepy has not been out for pee or drank yet does any one have any advise as to what i should be looking out for over the next couple of days the vet said keep a close eye on her but as she is so sleepy not sure what to be looking for?

Great news that she is back home again

She will be sleepy tonight but just keep her comfy.  Be on the look out for excessive shaking (she will shake a bit while coming out of the anesthetic), unusual bleeding, vomiting, high temp, just things that a very much out of the norm but cant be put down to the anesthetic drugs.

She should be back to her normal hungry self soon

that's great she is back home, she will be happiest with her mum getting hugs.

Make sure you keep her as quiet and restricted excercise as possible.
Take her outside on a lead.
Dont let her up the stairs or onto the sofa etc, as this can stretch the stomach to much and cause problems with the stitches.
Make sure she doesnt lick her stitches, as this will also cause problems.
