Can anyone of you clever people recommend a site where i can get some music for my new website, all i can find is the most awful midi music, which sounds like someone half cut on a seaside organ! lol, there must surely be something better than that? can anyone suggest anything please?

Cant help with the website but a would recommend looking for a WAV file instead. MIDI files are just data files, the sounds that are used depend on the soundcard in individual computers, so what sounds reasonable on one PC doesnt sound good on another, sometimes different instruments all together. Alternatively, if you find a tune that you like, feel free to PM me and i can change instruments and convert to WAV etc.
Good Luck in your hunt.

Not entirely the question you asked.... but website music is probably a number1 hate (though more so when its awful midi sounds)... if you want to use them, make it absolutely obvious where the 'turn off music' button is on the site so that site users have the option to turn it off, and quickly.

Most people are either listening to their own music... using a pc in a place where music is inappropriate (work, library) or cant hear them anyway.. and it is extremely irritating when the track changes as you flick from page to page.

Sorry to say but if i look at a site, no matter how interesting it is.. and there is music on it that i cannot turn off.. i leave and dont come back (hence i rarely ever look at myspace pages!).

I hate music on websites too!  I just don't look at the websites when music starts as they really do bug me.

MIDI files are the most suitable to use because they are so small. If you use anything else, those people that still use dial up (and they do exist!) will have a problem with the page loading and may then decide to leave the site before it has finished loading as the last thing anyone wants to do is sit and wait and wait.

Also make sure there are controls VISIBLE so people can stop the music if they so wish.

I don't notice website music because I hardly ever have the speakers on! The thing that I really hate is when the cursor has a little trail of stars or something following it around the screen. I leave the site immediately.

I'm sure you can get music on a website by linking to youtube. Don't ask me how tho. Good luck
