Hi,
I have just recently made a whelping box and was looking some advice on something I could put under the vet bed to stop it slipping about. The wood has a smooth finish, which means everytime she jumps inside, she is sliding about. I was thinking there would be some sort of rubber matting available that is easily cleaned. Advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I put lino on top of the wood and also newspaper as the pups begin to wee more - obviously with vet bed on top of this.  Works really well for me.

Double sided sticky velco, brought from the market or a craft shop.  Or normal velco glued on the box and sown on the vet bed.  I have used it in the past but cut the vet bed so it would come up the sides a bit.  I have only used it on a couple of bitches who would dig their beds all the time even after having puppy.  With the others their own weight and some paper underneath was enough to keep it in one place.

You can get rubber from canine kennels which you can line the box with and it is of course washable.

I've got a Snowsilk whelping box, the floor is slippery so I use the non-slip rubber backed vet bedding from Bronteglen

Wouldn't that be extremely difficult to clean?  The bit stuck on the box and not able to go in the washing machine.

Thats why I said I cut the bedding bigger than the base so the velco is actually half way up the sides.  I only use it for the extra figgity ones.

I don't think Velcro would stay stuck with my large breed, it would probably work better with a smaller breed

Mmmm I think it would need to be way up the sides to stop my lot getting some kack or other caught up in it not to mention any liquor coming from the mother as she brushes against it when standing and mine is not a large breed.   I would always want to clean all the sides down as well as the bottom daily.
