Wonder if you guys have any suggestions?
My male Stafford, Alf, has previously suffered with a very sensitive digestive system.  Since changing his food over a year ago, no more problems.
However, over the weekend, he didn't seem himself, I can only describe it as when a human being has a high temperature, he seemed shivery on his back end in spasms, and quite lethargic.
I made sure he drank plenty of water, and kept an eye on him.  Later in the day he seemed ok.
Next day he seemed ok too, eating and drinking fine etc.  But he did seem to be drinking a lot of water, and twice after he had, he vomited but it was just foamy (no food regurgitation).
Now, two days on, he seems fine, but after a long-ish walk yesterday, just didn't quite seem himself, again a wee bit more lethargic than I'm used to, but drinking and eating fine. 
Perhaps it was a bit too warm for him yesterday? 
Although the sun wasn't out, I know that Staffords in particular don't always cope with heat too well, and recovery from exertion can take a bit longer.
He just seems a wee bit panty and unsettled at the mo.
Hubby thinks I'm insane and just projecting my worry onto Alf (who is very sensitive to MY moods) and making him worse! lol
Any suggestions?

I dont think it is anything to do with his sensitive digestive system.
It could be one of a number of things from what you have described.
Could be heat stroke but we have had no serious sun in the UK this week, could be a bug he has picked up, but the shivery back end and thrist is also a sign of poisoning. I am sure I could go one with several more.

I really cant tell what it would be without seeing him but I recommend you make an appointment with the vet as that is not normal behaviour.
You are right to worry so ignore the your hubby.

Oops have just realised you meant thirst!! duh!!

When I get in I will see what he's like.  Will keep you posted....

If he is still weak then take him along, and yes i meant thirst not thrist.  Head working faster than fingers again :)

Has he been near slug pellets? or slugs that may have eaten slug pellets?   With all this wet weather slugs are thriving and more people may be resorting to them :(

I'm a worry wort too, always better to be safe than sorry ;)

Maybe a check of his blood sugar levels?
I'd take him to the vet's for a check up. Just to be sure. I'm a great believer in us "knowing" when something isn't right, even if you can't actually put your finger on what it is.

Well, I haven't done anything as yet, because he really does seem to be back to his 'normal' self.
Eating, sleeping, gruffing hello when I get home, 'business' end seems ok in both respects, and he seems his normal happy self.
Slug pellets did cross my mind after looking up the symptoms of poisoning on the web, but I just can't see how he would possibly have got hold of any - I definitely don't use them, my neighbour is an organic gardener, and as far as I know (!) he hasn't been anywhere where he could have picked them up.  BUT, I do completely understand that there is the possibility he may have, just not to my knowledge.
He doesn't appear to be drinking so excessively now, but again, I'm going to keep an eye on him.
I feel bad though for actually NOT taking him to the vet, could it be he was just having an off day?
Hmmm, if it was something like poisoning, and although he seems fine now, could there be long term damage if I don't get him checked out - that's my only worry?
