I have 3 six week old puppies that i have hand reared since there mum died from eclampsia . obviously they play alot but sometimes they seem to be quite aggressive towards each other, should i stop this behaviour and if so then how should i do it.

im so sorry to hear of your loss, im not a behavourist or vet or anything but i think you should step in normally their mother would have told them off with a low growl or removed them away from each other. im just thinking of the long run when you rehome them i dont want you having problems then when they are bigger and older and its harder to correct.
good luck amanda x

Hi Pickle,
It sounds as if you have done an excellent job. So sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how awfull it must have been.
My pups are the same little monsters at times, even with there mom. Mom has quite long breaks from them now so they are inside with one another, mom is with the others.
When mine do this I tell them no! and remove them, and distract them with a toy.
They sound very normal, good luck you have done very well!!!

So sorry to here that Pickle, you must be worn out raising your babies.  Puppies fight like daemons, yes all normal and usually the less boisterous in the litter just lie down and don't respond the more active puppies tend to leave them alone to some extend. If they are all play fighting and tumbling about you're doing a grand job - all healthy balls of fluff.  Yes step in if you feel you need to but mostly they don't damage each other just sounds like murder..

Thanks for your replies, i was worried that they may have been a little too aggressive but i suppose as you said, it sounds worse than it is.I was worried that they wouldn't be well socialised but i think they are going to be fine. Housetraining is going well and they are eating me out of house n home, they love raw mince .I have homes for two and am keeping the other as a reminder of their mum,she was a beautiful girl and  i miss her so much . her babies have turned out gorgeous just like her!

Aww Pickle I dont blame you for keeping one I deffo would have to to keep their mums spirit alive and in memory of her, its so sad when we lose a dog but to have one of her daughters is a very precious gift and to know you have hand reared her too, you 2 are gonna have such a special bond and have many happy years together :)

You sound like you have done a fantastic job with the pups too have raised them from so young, seriously well done Pickles *Applause* :) :-D
