My mum had a call today from my dad who had a call from the vets saying one of our dogs has come in and has been run over on the road. Now no-one's at home an my brother was the last to leave the house. As myself and Mum work at the same place we came charging home to the vets to find that it was one of ours, Maisie, She is badly bruised all over her body and was found about an hour and a half before we got there, had been in the vets about 30 mins. She is suffering from shock so thats what they are treating her for and will look at injury's once she has recoverd from shock (hoping she will)
We don't know what happend as my brother left the house at 7:15 AM and swears he shut the front door. At about half 10 our neighbour found one dog on the dorr step and another down the side access road and he put these back in the house, the front door was open. He wasn't to know we had 3 dogs in the front of house and unfortantly doesn't have a contact number for us (he does now)
We don't know how the door opened, if the dog opened in from the inside as we never double lock (another thing thats changing) or if my brother did leave the door open (very un likely as he is good about shutting doors)
Unfoprtantly our dogs don't wear collars indoors (bad experiance with them) and not microchiped. Luckily when the RSPCA were called they took her to the nearest vets which is where two friends work who come to our ringcraft and show dogs and they knew it was one of ours and thought it was maisie.
Please please can people pray for her. She's 9 and possibly has spinal damage (although it could just be shock related) I hope she will be fine. She looked so cold and ill when we saw her.
Unforantly the person who hit her didn't stop and we don't know who it was who found her and called out the RSPCA. For once I am grateful of the RSPCA for coming out and so glad we have friends at the vets who we know will look after her for us.
All this and it's my Dad's birthday and his having a bad day at work with things not going right, it's not a good day here :-(
Give all your dogs a hug and always tripple check the front door.
