Well after am all out row in the house tonight between me and OH over wait for it................a tube of toothpaste............ ....I just wonderd what irritates you the most inside your own home or outside it.
- By kazz Date 21.08.08 21:02 UTC
Mine are in order of tonights row........

Inside the house

1. Toothpaste and people who squeeze the tube form the middle not the end, and do not replace the flip lid.....

2. People who do not replace the toilet roll when it empty or pretty close to empty.

3. People who leave the taps dripping instead of turning them off fully.

4. Not putting the milk in the fridge after use.

Outside in no particular annoyance order

1. People who in car pars park that close that you cannot get into your drivers door

2. People on mobile phones on public transport and in shop qeueus (basicaly mobile phones I think)

3. People with more than 10 items in their baskets in the basket queue..........

4. People who park cars on pavements/half on half off pavments...causing pedestrians to walk in the road

5. None disabled parking in disabled zone.

6. Throwing litter on the floor.
- By Angels2 Date 21.08.08 21:10 UTC
Oh dear sounds like you are stressed ;-)

Have a nice glass of vino and chiiiillllll :-)

lol me too ....

Also ...

3.  people who leave up toilet seats ...not good feng shui
4.  people who stand dirty cups plates etc on top of an empty dishwasher instead of opening the door and putting them in

The one thing that really irritates me though,( and I guess it qualifies for outside) is to do with shop doors.....particularly in Boots is................
why is it that whenever I approach a clear doorway to the said shop,by the time ive opened it to walk in,there is a flurry of OAP's with shoppping trolleys waiting to rush past me to get in or either out of the shop, while I stand there like a lemon holding it open for them...Im sure they hide in the isles waiting to pounce and then get you in a pincer movement from all sides ...like greyhouds released from their stalls they are ,and they usually run my toes over with them bloomin trolleys and never say sorry or thank you lmao .
- By malibu Date 21.08.08 21:59 UTC
Read your post Kazz and am going yep, yep, yep to all of it.  Especially the mobile phones

But I add one more to the inside.

Not emptying the rubbish bin when it is full and insist on trying to squeeze one more bit in the bin.

I think the world is out to annoy sometimes.

Thats it out comes the gin  :-D

My main gripe is men who wear Pink!!
Also me and my other halfs latest spat was about him telling me when he;s gonna be home when we have something to do, men are useless at time keeping lol !!

Apart from those 2 just one more large irritant, PEOPLE WHO DONT INDICATE IN THEIR CARS TO GO ROUND CORNERS OR ROUNDABOUTS ETC!!!
The last one is a pretty big one actully as its dangerous and how hard actully is it to indicate!!!

:)
- By craigles Date 22.08.08 09:13 UTC
Toilet seat up in our house is a big irritant of mine.  There are many others but in the house that is the main one.  Outside spitting in the street, I turn away and mutter something and one day someone will hear me but how disgusting can anyone be?
- By Rach85 [gb] Date 22.08.08 09:15 UTC

> Outside spitting in the street

Completely with you on that one, its truly disgusting and I always mutter something too lol
- By sam Date 22.08.08 09:34 UTC
driving along a main rd and seeing some bloke with a parked car, and urinating in the hedge :(   I always toot my horn and point now....embarasses them like hell!!! :)

Good sport! :-D
- By Dogz Date 22.08.08 09:50 UTC
Not seen the urinating, however MEN in the cars, picking their noses!
They must be programmed at birth.

I love men in pink!  Haven't you noticed it is always the most manly specimens that dare?  Well apart from the obviously "out" ones :-)
- By Rach85 [gb] Date 22.08.08 09:56 UTC
PMSL most manly ones?
You must be joking??!!

All I see is skinny lil feminine teeny boppers males wearing pink and it looks so so so wrong!
My other half matt is very big and muscly as are most of his mates as their bodybuilders and I can safely say he and none of his mates would be seen dead in pink and thats the way I like it! lol
You dont paint a baby boys room pink do you? or dress your little boy up in pink so why did men all of a sudden start wearing it? Ben sherman thats whos to blame for demasclinating our men lol.
- By Isabel Date 22.08.08 10:00 UTC
I think we will have to differ on this one, Rachel.  My experience is that the more men are comfortable with their masculinity, and that is not always down to having muscles :-), the less they care about these things.
- By Rach85 [gb] Date 22.08.08 10:03 UTC

> I think we will have to differ on this one, Rachel.

Absolutly we will ;)
lol its just one of things like marmite, you either love it or hate it lol!

> My experience is that the more men are comfortable with their masculinity, and that is not always down to having muscles

But it does help lol
My type of guy is the rugged, muscly type and they just have to have a bit o stubble or at least a goatee like Matt does, probably why I dont like pink then if thats my type as it usually more fair men who wear pink, we agree to disagree Isabel ;)

Especially annoying as a cyclist. When cycle paths cross the main road.

MY other gripe is Cyclists.
Why do they think they don't have to obey  regulations. Like cycling on the left. Cycling on footpaths and  not sticking to cycle ways.  Why would you cycle up the middle of the A322 on a Monday morning with no helmet or vest when there is a cycle path running parellel
AND
Pedestrians who walk in the middle of the cycle ways!!
Then,
"Yummy Mummy" what a revolting/patronising expression, Has to be up there with bimbo and chick!!!
Enough of this my list goes on and on!!!

A Flemish lady I used to work with told me that in Belgium the perceived correct colours for boys and girls are the exact opposite of those in this country - pink for boys and blue for girls :)

And found this in an article in the Times On Line

Right up until the early 20th century children were routinely colour-coded the other way round. In 1918 The Ladies Home Journal advised readers "the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl".
- By Rach85 [gb] Date 22.08.08 12:25 UTC
Harley your not helping me make my point lol :)
It just semes blokes who wear pink now are wayyyyyyy to femonine for my liking!
Whats wrong with being a manly man nowadays lol
- By satincollie (Moderator) Date 22.08.08 13:51 UTC
Told my six foot 2 rugby/cricket playing son he needs to change his dress sense Rach he was not impressed. He will agree about the stubble though lol.
- By Rach85 [gb] Date 22.08.08 13:55 UTC
Rugby players wearing pink? Oh no no no lol
Its a gripe Ive always had and I wouldnt even let my dad leave the house in his pink shirt a while ago! lol :)

Stubble is a must :)
- By copper_girl [gb] Date 22.08.08 13:58 UTC
People (my OH to be specific and people at work) who put empty milk cartons and empty packets back in the fridge/cupboard.  So you think you've got something and it's bloody well empty.  Fume, fume, fume.

OH saying "I don't seem to have any clean shirts".  Well see that big white thing in the kitchen with that round bit of glass in it.  It's a washing machine matey.  It does not say on it "only to be used by women".

Dogs that won't eat the lovely treat that cost you a packet and prefers a minging old bone he found under a hedge.

Bahhhh.  In fact men irritate me and sometimes male dogs :)

CG :) :) (who of course has NO annoying habits)

Are you reading my mind?? lol
:) :)
- By dollface Date 22.08.08 14:24 UTC
Not changing the toilet paper roll

Not cleaning up after yourself

Texting while driving (parked or red light fine)

Doing lane changes with out signalling, driving in your car lane just because you are riding a motorcycle-

People who do not drive the speed limit and go way to slow- come on speed up

People that don't pick up their dog crap, also people who do not have their dog on a leash and allow it to run up to yours- grrr!!!

When walking your dog people who think its funny to try and scare them and get real loud in their face (just happened to us the other day and if I didn't pull my dog back she prob would have bit him) now that really irks me, what are people thinking!!!!

People who allow their cats- dogs to crap in my yard- that really gets me- yuck!!

Sorry having a rant- could be more but this is good for now lol :-D

LOl I can totally relate to that one!!

Also drivers who don't say thank-you when you let them out!!!
- By Carrington Date 22.08.08 14:59 UTC
I can safely say he and none of his mates would be seen dead in pink and thats the way I like it! lol

:-D Oh NO, would you hate coming 'man' shopping with me!  I'm awful I love all those mens flowery and patterned shirts, I'm always buying them for my boys and hubby, some they love, some get worn once and then sit in the wardrobe, but I am a sucker for anything that looks slightly different to the norm.

I see them as modern man. :-)  I think it is because hubby is always in a suit the boys are always in uniform so it is like wow freedom.

Hubby and the boys have both worn pink and pink patterned T-Shirts they don't care about colours at all.

Believe me my 3 are very masculine, but I guess it comes down to what you like.

My ultimate pet hate is the toilet seat, hubby and son No.1 have been trained, but son number 2 Arggggghhhhhh, I'm always sending him back to put them down again. :-D
- By Jax [gb] Date 22.08.08 15:10 UTC
I like to think I'm pretty chilled, but when I have a coughing attack and strangers start tutting and say silly things like 'you really should give up smoking' now that REALLY REALLY irritates me.

Jax :)

>My main gripe is men who wear Pink!!

Pink is very trendy, my other half looks soooo fit in pink !!  if he ever says to me "pick a t-shirt out for me" I always go for a pink one, he also has a pink work shirt.  He isnt feminine at all he is very athletic and toned ;)
- By Paula20380 [gb] Date 22.08.08 16:15 UTC
My main gripe is men who wear Pink!!

Pink is a colour my OH wouldn't have dreamt of wearing when I met him he had very conservative dress sense!! I dragged him into the 20th century and he is now half fashionable lol!!! He has a very pink tops and looks really nice in them, he is a big strapping lad at about 6ft 2 lol!!!
- By k92303 Date 22.08.08 16:38 UTC
What really irritates me is people who dont pick up their dog poo. Even more so when this triggers a rant from my non dog owning mother!!!!

Also that there isn't a plus one for every channel on Sky/Freeview.
- By judgedredd [gb] Date 22.08.08 18:12 UTC
people on mobiles when driving their cars,
not indicating to let you know where they are going i know i am a woman and can usually mind read but sometimes ......

people who will not pick up there dog poo ,
people who jump red lights including cyclists that think red lights mean do not stop even if people are crossing road,
that is all for now
- By Ioxia [gb] Date 22.08.08 18:57 UTC
People -
not clearing up after their dogs
Who are 5 stone over weight and wear jeans 3 sizes too small for them and all the flab is flopping over the waist band of said jeans
Who wear small skippy tops with jeans again 3 sizes too small
Sitting on the bus when someone is wearing said attire and you can see half the bottom hanging out of the jeans at the back
People constanley yanking up the said jeans
Spitting
People who throw still lighted cigarette butts on floor my dog could accidently step on it.
People not indicating and flying around the corner just as I step out on t the road
Waiting to cross road when cars are coming at you thick and fast from the right whilst clear on the left, as soon as cars ease up on right they come thick and fast from the left (yes I have all day to wait to cross the road, who it hurt to slow down and allow me to cross)
and
Asking son to do something an hour later its still not done...grr
I think I have covered it.

Soo true lol :-p

I hate people with no manners.

My hubby wouldn't be seen dead in pink :) , some men look ok in it, not my bag though :)
- By Crespin Date 22.08.08 21:27 UTC
- people who let their cats roam free (or dogs)
- lazy people
- kids
- people letting their dogs bark all day
- people who dont give up the bus seats for people who need them (ie a teenager sitting in the disabled priority seating and not moving when a disabled person gets on the bus)
- people who play music so loud it vibrates the ground!
- not keeping the bathroom clean
- telemarketers
- and people who rush through dog shows, running to ring side, and not watching where they are going!
- people that tease my dogs
- and the morons who think doodles are pure bred dogs!
- By ali-t [gb] Date 22.08.08 21:41 UTC
Well, where do I begin....
-cats pooping in my garden (and my dog trying to eat it yuck!)
-cars and the people driving them who appear to have indicators as an optional extra
-people driving round circles who stay in the left hand lane even if they are not going left or straight ahead
-people who don't pick up poop
-the smell of stale smoke on clothes/people/furniture
-those who steal from others
-running out of chocolate
-dogs off the lead that rampage about the park irritating my dog
-the fact that beautiful sandals with extreme heels are painful to wear :(

that should do for now before I get worked up into a frenzy
- By Honeybee [gb] Date 22.08.08 21:43 UTC
Goodness what a lot of things to be irritated by. Reckon I should start a topic of things to make you feel happy for a bit of positive thinking. (for the record I think whether men wear pink or not is their own business and they are entitled to dress however they like!!!)
- By Paula20380 [gb] Date 23.08.08 09:28 UTC
My BIGGEST irritation is an ex who thinks life circulates around him and he can pick up and drop daughter as he fancies. :-(

Hate the not indicating too it causes no end of rows between me and OH.

yes!! glad its not just me. in fact old people without any manners in general. i am extremely polite and fond of old people generally, comes of being so very close to my gran who i miss enormously, so a set curl hair do and a plump elderly frame are guarenteed my allegience and service but some of them are so rude! also buggy users.

priniciple irritations at work at the mo- people who fill in complaints forms "customer brought product on..." its BOUGHT!! and customers who call about their loyalty card and have the number nowhere near them and act stunned that you might need it. grr.

People who smoke in their cars while their children are in the car.
In this day and age, when we know how bad it is to passively smoke, it's totally inexcusable - and should be against the law IMO!
- By tessisbest [gb] Date 23.08.08 17:04 UTC
coming home on the bus after doing a 12hr night shift and the bus driver realises that he has time to kill so he stops and reads his paper at the stop before the one i want to get of at.
- By Saxon [gb] Date 24.08.08 10:23 UTC
What really grinds on my nerves is when people say 'bought' instead of 'brought' and 'brought' instead of 'bought'. So I'll say it once again. 'Brought is the past tense of 'Bring' and 'Bought' is the past tense of 'Buy'. They are two different words and they have two completely different meanings.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 24.08.08 10:30 UTC
And when people write "should of" and "would of" instead of "should have" and "would have". By all means shorten it to "should've" and "would've", but never 'of'!
- By ali-t [gb] Date 24.08.08 10:57 UTC
It bugs me on the radio when Scott Mills (and now everyone on his show) says 'xxx off of the tv' when I think it should be 'xxx from the tv' - perhaps I am wrong but it bugs me senseless.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 24.08.08 11:30 UTC

Well JG I'm one of those people.  Unfortunately maybe the Manchester accent but my brain just doesn't work on this and I know that I'm writing the wrong one down at times.  I just don't know why I can't get it in my head correctly but for some reason I can't?  It's really weird and really annoys me.  I actually re-write some things sometimes because I know that I'll type it incorrectly.
- By Saxon [gb] Date 24.08.08 12:52 UTC
Yes that's another one of my pet hates Jeangenie. Cheekychow, to be absolutely pedantically correct, it should be xxx, who appears on TV. Even newspapers are guilty of gross grammatical errors. I remember once reading a headline in a national newspaper which said 'Woman Finds Abandoned New Born Baby Walking In Park'
