Just curious - what does everyone use to clean their dogs ears ??

Our rescue Samoyed seems to get quite gunky ears - not something I've experienced before with our other 2 dogs. I bought some "ears and tears wipes" from a local pet shop but TBH they're not that great and Megans ears are still a bit brown. She doesn't seem to have an infection and was checked by a vet not so long ago...Can anyone offer any tips ? Thanks in advance :-)

I use Leo Ear cleaner - think it has now changed its name to Cleanaural. I've always used this any never had any problems with my boys ears.

If my dogs have really gunky ears or it's difficult to shift (sort of dried) I use Cleanaural (Leo Dog Ear Cleaner) followed by Thornit/Dezyna-Dog Gold Dust. It works a treat :)

But if my dogs get this it's usually down to the food they're on ;) some foods give them icky ears - no infection just very dirty ;)   I find it clears up after a week or 2 on a suitable food ;)  sadly my supply of suitable food was interrupted, waiting for a new sack! - so currently cleaning ears again ;)

I use garlic juice from Dorwest Herbs, is gentle on the ears and keeps them nice and clean.

Thanks guys - much appreciated! :-) From the majority vote I'm gonna go and find some Cleanaural - do they sell at PAH or just online ??

Louise - did try non fragranced baby wipes but being a very furry Samoyed the wipes became covered in fur and lost their effect a bit....still they come in handy for bum wiping :-D Dogs that is not babies!

Thorn-It ear powder is fab too, but ears do have to be cleaned before use. :)
