Hi guys, was just wondering if any of you use a holistic treatment to treat dogs for fleas or worms?? , at present i use frontline and drontol for worming.
Could you recommend any holistic products, and are they as effective?

Thanks in advance

Sorry, not used holistic alternatives for either of these, but am looking forward to seeing the replies for Frontline alternative (quite happy with Drontal).

Denes produce 'alternatives' and they've got a fact sheet (click on link above) for suggested flea treatment, and if you look in the drop down menu at the top of the page, there's also one for ticks and parasites.  I think the recommendation is use of garlic.

Hi dexter
I use this as a wormer:   http://www.holisticpetsupplies.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=87
I give my dogs about 1/2 clove garlic each day, plus brewers yeast (vit b) to protect against fleas, and I use neem shampoo which also protects against fleas.  My dogs are worm, flea and tic free.

I have recently purchased this as heard there are lots of tics around at the moment, but haven't used it yet: http://www.neemgenie.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PG1&Category_Code=007&Product_Count=14

Ah yes, forgot about that.  CSJ were sending Billy No Mates off for 'clinical' trials, I keep checking their web site to see if results back yet ... have you heard anything?

interested in the Garlic theory. I always give my dogs Garlilc. But every now and again I read that they are poisonous?

I've used neem shampoo on both dog & guinea pig with good results. The neem tick spray sounds interesting. I'm assuming it would be safe if licked, does anyone know?
