any one any idea on the best place to look for making your own chocolate,
i do not really want to attend a workshop just looking for a book etc to start me off

I remember reading a book by Allen Car of the stop smoking fame and it had a section on chocoholics.  He described chocolate ingredients as horrible bitter cocoa beans, breast milk for cows and lard - why would anyone want to eat it?  It put me of for about 3 minutes but I got over it - phew!

Way back when I was a girl, we had an essay competition at school set by cadburys. We all had to revise how to make choclate from cocoa beans onwards. Sorry but thtats it.....I did get a certificate though, I was probably 8 or 9!

I remember cadburys coming round the schools, showing us film of how choc is made and where it comes from, we did a quiz or essay or something for a prize, can't remember what now, but I do remember they gave each of us a small bar of cadburys choc! You have dug up a long forgotton memory there lol
