Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Unentered dogs in shows

Me and my friend have decided to go to shows together but we have dogs in different groups=showing different days.

Is there any way to take a dog that is not showing on that day with you to the show area?
As obviously we will have one "tourist dog" with us each day, not having anywhere to leave the dog not competing that day as I would not be happy to leave her in the car!!
I have read the schedule for few shows and can't see much information there :)

I have seen the "not for competition" entry in the schedules but it also says benched with the resprective breed...
But there will not be any resprective breed there on the day we want to take the "tourist" dog in so I'm not sure if this is the correct way to do it?
Also does the not for competition-dog get to bring one person in with them as it is pretty expensive if you have to pay plus £10 for the dog and then your own ticket as well...
I have also seen mentioning of the unentered tent somewhere before, is this where the extra dog for that day could go?
How do I know if the show will have a tent like this?

Phone show secretary and ask?

NFC can be any breed & the entry fee does include your entrrance fee. Some shows have a non entered tent but it is outside of the show area

Thanks!

I'm funny in a way and do not like "harassing" anybody unless I really need to.
I'm sure they have enough work to do regarding the show without a newbie asking all these silly questions!

You have two choices.

1 - Not for competition.  Usually when it says benched with respective breed and it is a breed not on that day they do one of few things.  Bench them with the breed you are showing.  Put them with obedience/agility dogs if they are on at the show as well.  Or even bench all the oddballs together, only known this once.  You would really have to phone the secretary.

2 - Unentered dog.  In the big list of rules their is usually a bit saying either their is no provision for unentered dogs at this show or the unentered dog tent will be situated ... usually in the car park. States the fee and this normally goes to charity.

Also you could if you dont want to leave your dog at home book them into a kennel for just the day.  I have done this before when I was already taking a few dogs so had no more room and no one to look after them at home.  Bit more costly but worth it.
