I'm considering getting windows and soffits, guttering etc replaced as mine are REALLY old. Can anyone tell me please - assuming the two lots of work are done by different companies - which one should be done first from a damage limitation point of view, or doesn't it matter? Thanks.
you can get companies that will do it all....on a previous house I had soffits, fascias and french windows fitted by the same company, who were also replacing windows on my neighbours next door
you may get a few tiles lossened re soffits/fascias, window replacement may involve an element or re-plastering/decorating...swings and roundabouts I think ;)
good luck :)
(oh and move any plant-pots out of the way, I had 2 smashed and lost 2 lovely fuschias :( )
Yes there are some companies that do the lot but unfortunately, the ones I have in mind to do the work don't! :-D What I'm concerned about is invalidating the individual guarantees if one damages the other.

I don't think it will matter. You would not expect either company to damage existing fitments and if they do they would be liable under their insurance. Just check they have insurance and check the certificate.
This March we had our barge boards, fascia's, soffits replaced by one company then in May another company
fitted replacement windows. No problems and they cleaned up all their mess.

We had our FSG (fascia, soffits, gutter to you lot :-D) done by one company - a big name in the market. It cost around £2000 - this included removing all the old stuff and doing a bit of asbestos removal too.
My neighbour had hers done by a smaller company and they stuck the new soffits over the old!
