my dog had a c section on friday, on monday night she delivered a very dead pup, do i throw an almighty wobbler with the vet for negligence or has this happened before to anyone?
- By peanuts [gb] Date 06.08.08 08:18 UTC
Yes i would throw a wobbler at the vet , leaving a puppy inside a bitch can be life threatning, i would take the dead puppy to the vet and ask for an explanation.
I have known it before and the bitch died from infection.
don't bother to ring them go down there and see them face to face.

Definitely, I would be there like a shot and give them a piece of my mind - I would want to know how the heck they missed it??

This is not life threatening but a lot of years ago I had a dog go in for neutering and the vet left one testicle in.....BEAT THAT!

I think that was a bit insensitive, we are talking about a dead puppy!

But this IS life threatening, I don't know how you can turn it into a joke

We must have posted at the same time

To be fair to tadog I think he/she meant that the neutering of his/her dog was not life threatening, not that the OP situation wasn't life threatening.

To the OP I'd definitely take issue with the Vet that carried out the caesarean.

Yes thats how I read it, just thought that the "beat that" at the end was a bit insensitive as the op has lost a puppy and is worried about their bitch also. I am sure tadog didn't mean the post in an offensive manner though

Thankyou Angel and Pedlee, I am NOT the sort of person to make OR Jjdge in the way the other posters did.  I in no way intended to hurt or take away the previous posters grief, I do not go out looking for trouble I try to see the good in someone. But some people sit like flys ready to jump on the SH=t. I I have offened the origional poster I am sorry. I am sure if she felt her bitch was in a life threatening situation she would have gotten her to a vet, whether it be her own or another rather than post here and ask for advice. To the other two, GET REAL.

massive huge enormous wobbler. thats so dangerous- and how the hell do you not notice another puppy??

my parents through one when the vets scanned our bitch and declared she had two pups left and cut her open- no pups.

you must have been so upset, your girl to i imagine, what a horrible thing to have happen. big {{{{hugs}}}}}

hope that mum and the rest of the pups are ok

This has happened to me.Our girl gave birth to 7 pups but had 1 stuck. Off she went for c section on Fri morning. The pup was removed and all ok. The next day she delivered a very dead pup. Took her to vets who gave anti biotics, oxytosin and said that due to her having 7 live pups they believed the 2nd uterius horn to be empty and didnt check it. Took her home and the poor girl delivered another pup the sun morning. Needless to say i  had a few words.

The daughter from that litter had a litter 10 weeks ago and she gave birth to a dead pup 5 days after 7 live pups ..................
