Hi
I've been looking at a mower for some work I have and have looked at various mowers from Hayter, Lawnflite, Honda and John Deere.
There is a 19'' John Deere rear roller mower the R47RKB which is fitted with a Kawasaki 6.5hp (4.8Kw) OHV engine and it sounds like a nice mower. It did fell heavy in the hand compared to Hondas and Hayters and I did notice some movement in the handle near where it is clamped to the body but this I may be worrying to much.
The Kawasaki engine seems to have a good name and is powerful compared to Briggs engines on its net output but knowing very little about mowers I'm a little lost.
Oh before I forget its a little more expensive than some at about £770 but I should be able to bargin it down a bit if I do go for one.

Does anyone know how the John Deere mowers compare to others?

now come on ladies, please ask hubby if he knows :)
I am available to cut grass for a simple hot meal and cuppa as me and a cooker do not mix :)

No replies still. You need to get on an American farmer forum. That's how I know John Deere. :) They make good farm equipment if that's any help. I'd take you up on the offer to mow if you could get it in my garden.

Now there's an offer I can't resist :)
They do seem larger in the US but I can't find much on this walk behind mower. It seems over there they have large gardens and use tractors where us poor Brits end up with a 30 by 30 garden lol.
Being as the models new for 2008 not many seem to use one. I like it due to the engine and the decking case design with a built in fan but its a heck of alot of money to gamble with.
The more I look the more I get confused :)

Steady on, I didn't say get on an american farmer! ;-) ROFL Some areas have large gardens as do older homes. Brand new houses in places like southern california are so close you could borrow the neighbor's toothpast without having to leave the house.

I've found your Deere mower (sorry couldn't resist) here for £649 inc vat. Maybe you can find it even cheaper.

lol :) Thanks for the link. I'm going to try if I go for it to knock the sales guy down. He did say 10% but he would go further so it would be nice if he would match online prices.
I'm going for a local place because knowing my luck its bound to go wrong :) everything always does for me :(
