Does anyone have any experience of using either of these drugs on their dogs?

What was the drug prescribed for? Did you notice an improvement?  How long were the drugs prescribed for?

Sorry for all the questions but someone has asked me to find out about these for them (they don't have internet access).  I can find plenty of info about them by googling but am looking for some first hand experience.

Thanks

Amber has been on Vivitonin for nearly two years but for her heart condition only.  When first prescribed it she had no symptoms of senility or psycological issues but of course I cannot know if anything might have developed without its benefit.  It does seem to have been very effective in the area of reducing peripheral vascular resistance for which it was prescribed, well together with the other 5 drugs she is on anyway.  What problems has your friends dog got?

I've had one on Vivitonin before.

Holly had Transient Iscaemic Attacks, sort of mini strokes. She was on Vivitonin for the last two years of her life. Once they go on it, they should stay on it permanently. She was great on it for those two years, and by the time she eventually died, she was having breakthrough episodes of TIA's and she was put to sleep at 14 years old.

My dog in on Vivitonin, because he had a stroke and it is to improve the blood flow or so I am told, know of one person who gives their older dogs it as a mater of course.

I believe fitergol has been discontinued in the Uk and is no longer available. Vivitonin is a fantastic drug.

Yep, same here. Charlie was put on vivitonin about 2 1/2 years ago when he had a stroke, to improve blood flow. He's been on it ever since and is now approaching 16, so I have no intention of stopping it to find out if it helps or not.
