My first husband was called Mr. E. Stalker. (mystery stalker ;-) )
Some people do it deliberately as they think it's funny, but that takes the biscuit. Poor kids.

I had an embarrassing moment on the phone at work on my first day! I thought the caller was a wind up - his name? Mr Peter Abbott (say it fast ;) like he did :-D ) I told him "yes, and I'm Jemima Puddle Duck!" :-D :-D
I also knew a Hazel Knutt :-( poor kid was ribbed about it all the time :(
Can't understand why parents would want to make their kids the butt of every joke :( :( :(
We spent 9 months each time making sure that any name we gave wouldn't be the bane of our children's lives and still managed to give them something that reflected both their German and Irish heritage ;)

I went to school with a boy called anthony Legg (hand, toe, knee, leg) it's not that bad compared to others but he did get ribbed a litle over it.

My neice used to work with a man called Mike Hunt. It sounded really bad when he was paged on the tannoy ...!!!!!!

My cousin is Richard Bird - my aunt said they would call him Dickie Bird in school anyway. But it isn't that bad.

I went to school with a Richard Head he hated it because obviously we always shortened his name. When his first son was born he called him Richard too. He said it never did him any harm being called Dick Head all his life!!!

I went to school with a Charlie Brown. And of course, the one day I came home and heard the song "Charlie Brown" and was like "mom thats not nice, a boy I know has that name."
My mom was gonna name me Winnifred Horsley. So when its shortened, its Winni Horsley. Yay, like I already didnt get flack for my last name, you know "Horsley eats like a horse" but if I had the name Winni???? OMG
I agree, I am all for unusual names but I think you have to be careful that they aren't too extreme or too silly :-(
We took the time also to work out the combination of initials aswell :-)
I was Vivienne Blunt try living with Blunt - Blunt pencil ect My boys surname is Curd, It rhymes with T--d but at 6'5" not may tease them now!!!
one of the local vets had a son , they called him Hugh, his surname is Cumber

When I worked for a bank we had a customer called Duane Pipe, and a friend of my family was called Owen Owen!!
At work I've come across a Winnifred Ankers (Imagine what was on her chequebook - Ms W A.......!)
When I first started work for an oil company we had a customer called Peter Pine-Coffin. I didn't believe the name at the time but years later when working for a medical insurance company he turned up again!! I subsequently looked it up and there are a few Pine-Coffins around...
At the insurance co again I spoke to a man called William Quarterly - he was very cross at the time so I didn't want to ask if anyone calls him Bill !!
I remember a girl called Karen who gained a married surname of Farren
A friends initials were FAG and she became FAT when she married. Yes - she used to smoke and then put on weight when she stopped!!

I just got named after the police song...after a prostitute!
Thanks Mum!

When I was a student midwife I delivered a baby girl to a family called Taylor.
However when the happy parents told me they would call her Jenna I felt compelled to point out the fact that this poor girl would sound like 'private parts' !!!!!! Lol.
They quickly changed their minds and she became a Sarah!!!!!
Kate
Oh, initials. I forgot about that! My brothers are RIF RAF! Honest :-D They are Ronald Ian Ferguson, and Robert Alan Ferguson. Don't know if my parents realised at the time, but we've had a bit of fun over the years....

Both?

Surely only the Mike Hunt name is a joke but I expect there are are quite few blokes called that around the world :-) 278 on Friends Reunited so maybe not so ironic :-)
>How ironic,i've heard both of those names used in jokes over the years
All the best jokes have their basis in truth - and yes, Tim was a bit of a comedian! Nice guy. Very genuine.
I spoke to a guy the other day called MR Ravi Holly!!! I couldnt stop laughing and he put the fun down only to phone back and got me again! I said ok yes I am ravihooly lets get the jokes out the way first lol

When I was expecting my daughter we convinced my mother in law her name was going to either AMA or MIA sound fine till you put it with the surname SAVAGE.
Went to school with sisters called Isla and Ailsa Craig.

Just sad- parents should think how they would feel with that name :(
I like different names as well, but was still careful on what I chose. We were thinking on Coal, Steel for a boy and well I liked Emma for girl :) Neither of my children have those names, so we named the ferret Emma (Emmers) lol. Since I never named my children after anybody I told hubby when we get another dog I want to name him Eddie after my dad- I know weird but I like it :) My african grey (if I ever get one) Peter after my grandpa.

When I got married, on the marriage certificate is the names of the 2 fathers, ivor woodcock and john thomas (old slang for mens bits ) I took alot of ribbing for that. My brother also named his daughter Lilly, fine except his surname is white.
> Ophelia whose parents were Mr&Mrs Cox Eeeeek!!!
my mum works with a foreign doctor who's name is kunt...he named his daughter Emma. mind we live in dundee, poor child.
my aunt who;s a midwife also delivered a Roland Butter
