Do those who have had their puppies 'docked in Ireland' need proof of crossing the border?  Forgot to add I know humans dont but what about dogs?  How does this impact on the new Act?

A breeder was fined  for taking a litter to Ireland and having the pups docked as it was stated she went with intent to cause suffering, it was in the dog press a while ago

I think that puppies BORN in Ireland can be legally docked. Normally if you travel on the ferries you are obliged to go to Defra to declare you are carrying animals and as such have paperwork to prove this, thus proving that you have taken puppies over to be docked.  People will always try to get around rulings :-(

Also thing to note pups born in Ireland and registered with the IKC (Irish Kennel Club) all have to be microchipped before the IKC
will register them.
So I would imagine that you could also prove where the chip was first registered, i.e. the breeder and country.
