I'm sure I read on here somewhere that you can buy the pre-mate test independantly and not from your vets and then get the vet to take the blood. Then send the bloods off yourself to save time. Does anyone have any info on this. The stud dog I want to use is in Scotland and about a 6 hour drive away so I want to be sure she is ready.

Not heared of that - is it reliable ? anyones opinions? Where do you get them from ?

We used the Mate Tel with our last litter, had really strong ferning, took our girl to stud, got a tie, same again in 48 hours and had 9 puppies....our biggest litter so far!

So I'm convinced it works.

i have used matetel on my last 2 matings, first time last year, took her when the ferning was strong, result was 12 puppies my biggest litter, just had a new bundle arrive, good litter of 9 so i think it is great, you can also use it again 21 days after matings and if you get ferning again it is a good indication she is pregnant, i did this both times too and it was right about that too. i recommend the matetel :)

There is one for sale in the Bring and Buy section.......I can also recommend as I've used mine twice and both times had a good litter !

I have immense trouble getting enough saliva, but have seen the ferning a couple of times.
