Topic Other Boards / Foo / Stainless steel or ceramic sole plate on irons????

Hello, I'm going to buy a new steam generator iron today, I've narrowed down to two Morphy Richards of pretty much the same spec except one has a stainless steel soleplate and the other is ceramic. I have had both in the past and 'I' don't tend to have a problem with either.....its when my Husband gets hold of the iron occasionally - he always has it too hot and sticks whatever it is that he is ironing to the iron. I have googled to see if I can get any advice but not a lot came up so I wondered if people here would give me their own personal opinions and preferences  :)  Also, there is a Tefal iron which seems quite good but it has a smaller manufacturers warranty and one thing I have stumbled across when googling is that the tefal teflon soleplates aren't that good - does anyone have a Tefal steam generator and would like to share their views? All three irons that I am looking at are at least half price - around the £70 mark reduced from around £150 AND at the moment if you trade in your old iron at Comet, you get the new one (selected irons) VAT free!!!

Just like to say that I recently bought a Russell Hobbs ceramic steam generator iron and it is fantastic.  It too was reduced from £150 to £70 and after my dish washer (which I could never live without)it is the best thing I've ever bought. I used to hate ironing and to be honest I just used to tumble dry most things but now I actually enjoy ironing, because it takes so little time now(how sad am I - lol).  Def recommend one to anybody.
