Topic Dog Boards / Showing / elastic armband for ring numbers
- By Lori Date 29.07.08 13:38 UTC
I tried searching but no results for the last 180 days :) I'm looking for an armband that's elasticated and that fits standard champion show numbers without having to trim them. I found a velcro one at HUB yesterday but I'd prefer elastic. Ta

the good thing about the velcro ones is you can make them tight on your arm, the elastic ones tend to slip (unless you have large arms of course)

why not get a velcro one and remove the velcro and sewin some strong elastic

Well my arms are big enough for the elastic ;-) it's all weight lifting, honest but I tried the velcro one and found it really fiddly to put on. I'm usually on my own so no helping hands to strap the things together. Maybe I'm just uncoordinated. :)

I think it was Crufts we got ours at BUT nope they normal ring cards do not fit and have to be bent.

Hmm, my friend had one from Pedigree and it fit perfectly. I should have popped by their stand. I was hoping to get one before I went to Darlington.

it can be tricky going to shows by yourself i always go alone and find getting all your stuff in and set up and holding a dog so tiring.

All mine are pedigree.  Fit all champshow ring numbers, fit eukanuba ring numbers and most others are smaller, only have to fold coby dog ones!  Elasticated round the arm which can be adjusted really small.

Numbers can be abit difficult to get in if your holding a jumpy dog in the ring but thats only a problem at open shows. :)

Overhills sell them and are at most champ shows

Mine is elasticates and has the opening at the top rather than the side so although some of the champ numbers are a bit taller there is no folding required.  This actually makes it easier if you need to swap numbers in a hurry as you've something to pull!   I also saw someone who puts her numbers back to back and just reverses her armband for diff dogs.

I got it from ebay, but I can't find the supplier at the moment - I'll keep looking and send you a link when I find it.
