more updated information available on Higham for people who entered but didnt get to show thier dog at blackpool.

I wasn't entered but I think that's a fair deal from Blackpool. It makes sure they get entries for next though, doesn't it? ;-)

What happens with those people who've maybe had a CC previously with their dog from the future 2009 judge or would chose not to enter under that judge?

They can't please everyone though can they?

Why not just simply refund the entry fee?
- By ice_queen Date 24.07.08 22:07 UTC
Because why should they loose out on next years entry numbers????
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 24.07.08 22:25 UTC
I don't think they should refund the entry fee.  It was a freak of nature and there's nothing that they could have done to avoid it.

Let's face it if something like this happened at an event before you got there and it was cancelled unless you paid by credit card you'd get nothing back at all.

Hasnt this exact thing happened at blackpool before though? Im sure i read that it had.

If thats the case then i suspect there probably were things they could have done to make things safer, and probably should have cancelled things earlier than they did.

I wasnt htere but i would be extremely p*ssed off if i had been and had subsequently found out it had happened before and that they didnt evacuate sooner.

£20 odd quid back in the form of a voucher isnt much when you take into account the vast expense of showing, the serious consequences this will likely have on many of the dogs frightened by the experience... at the very LEAST they ought to refund people in the same manner in which they paid (and id think that would be the law also).. so refund in cash, rather than forcing people to attend next year..

theemx I doubt very much it is law!

I remember years ago my dad paid over £100.00 for us to go to a dinner dance and show etc. by an American star who then didn't bother coming over.  Dad didn't get a penny back, not to think of the money we paid out for suits and evening dresses.

I think that's The Sale of Goods Act (faulty goods) which doesn't apply in this case

They will if the judges aren't to everyone's taste anyway.  And what about those that have already won CC's from a judge that might be judging next year, that's hardly their fault.   But if they turned up with their free voucher entry and claimed another ticket, they'd be plenty who would criticise.

They might because people do! :-) but they ought to be allowing for the particular circumstances.  Anyway the previous winner is potentially up against a different selection of dogs and may not have quite the same condition on the day and will certainly be a year older so it's not truly cut and dried.
