Just caught up on this thread and it reminded me of when I worked on customer service at a well known supermarket and a customer brought back a bag of pre-washed salad telling me there was a caterpillar inside. I had a rummage through (all part of the job) expecting to find nothing or something that maybe looked like a grub..... but...OMG!! Stuck to one of the stalks of the (pre-washed) lettuce was the biggest, fattest caterpillar ive ever seen and it was alive too. Im still grossed out by it and that was about 10 yrs ago.
So just go to show that the pre-washed salads arent perfect and creature-free either!
