This is my second attempt at puppies from my girl.   First time no success so this time I am really feeling the strain.  She would be four weeks today so what signs would I expect to see?  She has seemed different, going off her food and very affectionate but I'm scared to get my hopes up too much.  She's only a toy breed so not very big but her tummy does seem harder when I very gently feel.  Also her nipples are pointing and reddish.  Can't tell about a discharge with her being small and long coated.  Obviously will be having a scan done but the suspense is killing me.  Where abouts would any puppies be at the moment?  I know they start to implant at around 21 days.  Any comments would be gratefully received. 

I have a small breed as well, obvious from the names we may even have the same. LOL

Anyway I have a girl who is four weeks on and she has a very slight rounding to her abdomen, nipples are really quite pink and the two at the back are slightly looser (flappy/droopy not quite sure which word fits) these are two signs I have always found in my girls. Also the vulva tends to stay slightly enlarged and soft.

Small dog with long coat, put it on a table part the coat at the rear and have a look or use a clean white tissue/cloth to wipe her and you will see any colouration on that.

Yes we do have the same breed.  I'm sure we've been at the same shows as well.  I'm fairly new to all this and I so want puppies.  The stud dog owner has been absolutely brilliant and I know that we couldn't have done anything more to get a pregnancy.  From what you've said I feel slightly more positive now.  She does seem to have a slightly rounded belly but I think I look too much and then am not sure whether I'm imagining things or not.  The next few weeks will tell I guess.  Thanks for your help. 

if she is 4 weeks put yourself out of your misery (nothing worse than the is she or isnt she feeling) and get her scanned. Most vets will scan from 4 weeks onwards so fingers crossed.

I find that first time mothers are easier to tell with. I have a bitch that was mated just 15/13 days ago and she's already showing signs. A marked change in temperament and a clear discharge. (I know what you mean about being difficult to tell with discharge in your breed though as I have them as well -with one of my girls I wouldn't even have known she was in season the first time had I not noticed her licking herself!) I expect her teats to turn pink within the next week -again it's easier to tell the difference in a first timer. I take photos of the teats before they have changed so I have something to compare with once they do change, and can check I'm not just imagining it, LOL.

Intresting Post as My DOg should be 4 weeks and 3 days Pregnant also.
Her Temperament seems to have changed as she seems more tired and quite, She has also been licking herself.
This is my first time too, so I am very anxious to find out too.
I keep looking at her nipples, but I cant really tell if they have changed or not.
I guess I will take her to be scanned next week.
