Hi

I have a very fussy GSD and have recently been trying to ween her off a working dog dry food called Omega Tasty made by Purina. I'm not sure how I ever decided to start feeding her this as she has been eating it for years but I had become concerned that the high protein levels in this food (27%) were not good for a pet dog of 8 years old and may be contributing to her hyperactive behaviour.
I tried both Supadog and Wainwrights senior large breed after hearing good reports about these but although she ate them at first she soon started turning her nose up at them and absolutely refusing to eat them. Despite trying the usual trick of leaving the food down and then removing the bowl after 15 minutes she was going days without eating anything (she is extremely stubborn) so I have resorted to buying her the Omega Tasty again. There doesn't seem to be any info online about this brand of dog food and I was wondering if anybody else feeds it or wheter anybody knows if it is OK to feed it to a pet dog?

I can't answer this question but i also have a very stubborn dog who i can't get to eat what i want him to. He'll eat something new and then turn his nose up at it. I have done the pick it up after 10 mins and then he misses meals, he just won't eat... I know dogs won't allow themselves to go hungry and you have to persevere with this, but it does get worrying.

Hope someone can help you on this.
