Hi
I have a newfoundland, but she the old type newoundland, shes 10 months old and her fur wont stand up, we have used a blaster but it just flattens again, has any one got any ideas on what we can use
we are going to leeds champshow and we need her looking her best :D

I asked my friend that has shown newfies for years about this post this morning (I show goldens). I was pretty sure that the fur was supposed to lie flat, not stand up and she agreed. If you brush it with your hand the wrong way the coat should lie back down again not stick up. It sounds like your girl's coat is behaving as it should. Remember it's against KC to use any products that alter the color, texture or body of the coat in the ring.

What do you mean by 'old type' Newfoundland? 

As Lori says, sounds like the coat is bahaving exactly as it should for a correct Newfoundland coat.

I've nver known for their coats to stand up either???

Breed standard says:
Coat
Double, flat and dense, of coarse texture and oily nature, water-resistant. When brushed wrong way it falls back into place naturally. Forelegs well feathered. Body well covered but chest hair not forming a frill. Hindlegs slightly feathered.
